About this mod

Adds simulated psychological experience to Skyrim playthroughs.

Changelogs

Player-developed mods have given players real-time food and hunger mechanics, real time hygiene mechanics, fatigue, warmth and cold simulators, just about every aspect of immersion into the physical experience of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

But what progress has been made on the psychological experience?

With new Immersive Anxiety, finally it is possible to simulate the rigors of our adventure’s impact on the mind. Previously, the player character proceeded through their surroundings uncaring of the many factors a real person might consider in their position. Gone are the days of a fundamentally unrelatable avatar, interrupted only to eat or sleep. We no longer have to compensate for that disconnect or ask ourselves, “How would I really feel in this situation?” Now, the Dovahkiin is one of us!

Q&A

Q: What does this mod do exactly?

A: It interrupts your regular activities with completely random and unhelpful bouts of soul-crushing anxiety. Just like in real life! Yaaaaay!

Q: Is this compatible with...?

A: It should work with virtually anything, with only a small amount of weirdness if there is any overlap with another mod's features. Nothing should break.

Q: How do I stop the mod without uninstalling it?

A: Open the console and type stop IA_ImmersiveAnxiety.

Q: How do I change the anxiety chance?

A: Open the console and type set IA_AnxietyChance to X, where X is the chance you want. 35 is the default level, recommended by the beta tester. We both recommended you don't go too much higher, or else you'll basically kneecap the Dovahkiin's ability to function.
