4. About this mod

*****************************************************************

This mod creates a new playable race, the pharlans, which originate from my universe rather than TES lore.
Pharlans have appeared as a mod in Morrowind as well with a quest mod accompanying that game.
In Skyrim, Pharlans are given several bonuses inlcuding a 150 point magicka bonus, reduced magicka regen rate and a 70% spell absorbtion chance. They take no falling damage and have a jump bonus (technically this is done through a global value change (since jump bonus abilities are apparently bugged) so if you leave the pharlan race esp file active, any character you play will have high jumping ability.

Pharlans are a winged race. Wing potions can be found in the torture room of Helgen's dungeon. If the player's race is changed to pharlan from an old save the wings are added via script after character creation. You may visit the catacombs in whiterun where a chest holds several wing potions. You should not drink more than one wing potion at once, though doing so does not appear to cause problems. Note that using the showracemenu console command will remove existing wings. The wing potions add a type of weakness which removes the armor bonus from armor for the player. The only way to increase armor bonus for a pharlan is by using spells.

Also note that if you stack the atronach sign with the pharlan race, magicka regen will stop completely unless magicka regen rate is boosted by items.

7. Credits & Usage

Note that I have not created any of the models to make this race mod, they come from other talented people. I have created textures using the work of KZM, a bit of hand editing on my own and source images of different creatures from the web.

Anton - for awesome amazing animated wing models. This mod would have gone nowhere without him. The animations of this mod are fully dependent on the Animated Dragon wings mod. milisot1325 for the feathered wing alpha mapped textures. I mostly remade the textures for the female wings, the male wings are pretty similar. (Anton gave permission to use these models, please contact him if you wish to modify them for your mod).

Credit to Kzinistzerg, for the original Gadan Pharlan textures from my Gadan Pharlan mod for Morrowind.
I have edited these textures to use for pharlans in Skyrim. Please do not use these textures in other mods without permission. KZM made those textures from scratch.

Clawed Hand models - Derok and Didact2401

Argonian raptor feet models - artifex0

Female Body Model - ThePal

Apachii sky hair - Several hair models are from Apachii sky hair, these have not been altered other than to redirect the texture directory so they don't overwrite Apachii sky hair (not that any changes have been made currently)The meshes are simply in the "hair" directory under meshes/pharlan/ I have attempted to retexture one of these models as of v. 1.1

Big thanks to the skyrim mods subreddit members for helping me figure out how to make a functional skyrim script. I would have been stuck forever without them. :)

The ideas behind the race contained within this mod was entirely
concieved of by myself back in 1995 and thus is my Intellectual property. I am permitting the use of pharlans as a playable race in Skyrim because I retain creative control of their appearance and attributes. Do not use pharlans in other games or mods without my permission.
If you want more background on this race visit my website - Sabregirl.com/pharlan/
If you wish to be a reviewer of my pharlan universe based novels or stories, feel free to contact me.
Please do not use the pharlan race without permission, pharlans are copyright to me.
