v1.2 compatible with 1.6.1130.0. Be sure to update SKSE.

    Latest Release
    v1.2 released; SKSE64 AE 1.6.629+ support.

    Notes
v1.1+ is compatible with both pre-AE and AE SKSE64.
You do not need this mod if you are using SSE Engine Fixes.

    Not working for you?
Make sure you've updated the mod.
Make sure your installation matches the image here.
Try excluding the dll loader and the achievements dll in your antivirus.
Try using SKSE64 instead of my dll loader.

Ok, I did it. The achievements now work in the current Steam version of Skyrim Special Edition:

    1. Install this mod here via Vortex.
    2. Then install this mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/3619?tab=description) manually, the description says how... there are only two files. ^^ This seems to be necessary, this mod is not installed automatically.
    3. Finally, I created the file "steam_appid.txt" in the same directory as SkyrimSe.exe, with the content "489830". Without the "" of course...just the number.

    What a ride....

Just to clarify for anyone having trouble with Mod Managers loading this.  I found doing it manually worked better.  First you need to download this mod and extract the files.  Once you do that you'll find 2 folders in the Data file

      1) Plugins
      2) SKSE

Grab the file labeled Plugins and drop it into your Skyrim Special Edition / Data area.  Don't put it in SKSE.  So it should be Skyrim Special Edition/Data/Plugins/Sumwunn.  The Sumwunn folder should have the 3 files in it from this download:
      Data\Plugins\AchievementsModsEnabler.dll
      Data\Plugins\AchievementsModsEnabler.ini
      Data\Plugins\AchievementsModsEnabler.dll_Exports.txt

then take the AchievementsModsEnablerLoader.dll  from the SKSE folder and drop it into Data\SKSE\Plugins\

Next you need the .dll from here: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/3619

This file is manual download and extract:

Put the DINPUT8.dll in the root game directory so: common/Skyrim Special Edition (not the Data folder), then put the DllLoader.ini in the plugins file above.  So plugins should now be:
      Data\Plugins\Sumwunn\AchievementsModsEnabler.dll
      Data\Plugins\Sumwunn\AchievementsModsEnabler.ini
      Data\Plugins\Sumwunn\AchievementsModsEnabler.dll_Exports.txt
      Data\Plugins\Sumwunn\DllLoader.ini

Then I also add the text file as advised (just for good measure)  :)

      file name:

      steam_appid.txt

put the follow numbers into the text file:

      489830

Put this file in the games root directory:

      common/Skyrim Special Edition

Tested it by resaving an existing save - the M was gone
gave myself 100K gold - checked Steam and I had the achievement.

Wrye Bash was no longer giving me a .dll error anymore by doing it manually.  Hope this helps anyone else trying to get back their Achievements! :)

For the people using skyrim AE, i did the same steps but instead of putting "489830" on the "steam_appid.txt" i used "626153" and it worked, the number or id i used is the appid that steamdb says the game has, it fixed my problem and now i can get achievements, i don't get the message anymore, just in case remember to put "getskse" version in the game console to see if the loader is working

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

(Just in the really off chance that someone reads this who is playing on Mac with Crossover (like me), these instructions still work! Only tricky part is you must create the appid text file in Notepad--NOT TextEdit. Go to the Task Manager in your crossover window put notepad in the search bar and run the notepad.exe.)

      slightly confused with this one:
"then take the AchievementsModsEnablerLoader.dll  from the SKSE folder and drop it into Data\SKSE\Plugins\"

Can't seem to find that specific folder? or do i create that folder in the skyrim data area as well?

      EDIT: fixed it lol

You dont need to do any of that, just install engine fixes, do the appropriate changes to the ini file so it works on latest AE, and then install this mod.

Why are you going out of your way to overcomplicate stuff?

    Hi,

In 1.6.1170.0 because I don't get a Data\Plugins\Sumwunn\AchievementsModsEnabler.log created but I believe this is working, because if I don't have it installed, then I get a popup when trying to load a save; Creations are currently loaded achievements are disabled

    I am using SSE Engine Fixes, but it's my understanding now, for 1.6.1170.0 you need to make in EngineFixes.toml;

    EnableAchievementsWithMods = false

Can someone please explain all this for 1.6.1170.0? Beacause even with SSE Engine Fixes installed, because there is now suppose to be a need to change the EngineFixes.tom, it seems like if you want this support, this mod does need to still be installed? All I know in 1.6.640.0 I didn't use Achievements Mods Enabler before with SSE Engine Fixes, I believe the EngineFixes.toml edit, has changed this?

    THANKS

P.S. Zanderat says this mod is now needed, I guess the Description needs to be updated in regards to SSE Engine Fixes...

As far as I know that line isn't working after the update so now you need this mod.

So, this might be a dumb question, but is this intended to work for the mods from the built-in 'Creations' page, or only for external mods added manually?

The achievements enable function on the Engine Fixes mod is still not working on AE 1.6.1170. You have to set that setting false in order to not have CTD while loading a save or starting a new game.

Does this mod works on AE 1.6.1170 ? (for context: Im using all creation club contents)

I'm having CTDs starting a new game ever since the update, though your comments was my answer but checked and that option was disabled already. No idea what is making me crash...

I can confirm that the mod perfectly works with the latest GOG version of the game (1.6.1179.0 aka "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition v0.1.3905696" as of 29.02.2024). However it must be said that you need to MANUALLY install both the xSHADOWMANx's Dll Loader package (along with the appropriate version of SKSE64 AT THE SAME TIME) and this mod's main package. Make sure to install them correctly as it's shown on the second author's image of the mod here above, otherwise an error message/CTD is guaranteed. Installing the mod with a mod manager can fail because it could refuse to properly install all of the needed files, especially those in Data/Plugins/Sumwunn folder in particular.

I had the same problem with around fifteen hundred mods after that script killing update. You probably have some scripted mods not playing nice with the new update. I went ahead and started over, and I am now about half way to rebuilding my load order with only mods that are updated or didn't need updated.

If you check the comment section at SSE Engine Fixes and look for the top comment currently by Wolfpack49 he has some really good help put together step-by-step about getting your framework in order so you can start updating your load order.

You may want to remove all .dll mods from your game. Then redownload them while looking for their version compatibility. If they don't mention being compatible with version 1.6.117x you need to test them and check the comment section.

I tried to salvage my load order but in the end I was wasting so many days I realized It would be more efficient to start over.

Edit: For the help post scroll past the sticky at the top and look for Wolfpack49 "Skyrim 1.6.117x Notes" post.

Hi! So I just used your mod alongside the SSE engine fixes one but with the EnableAchievements option disabled to get around the disabling of all plugins when that option is enabled and it seems to work wonders. I was just wondering, I installed your mod through MO2 and the log file keeps appearing in the overwrite directory. Is this somehow problematic? I'm very new to modding in general so I don't really know, thanks in advance.

      Hi,
i had the same thing, its not harmfull these are just logfiles. But if you dont want to them appear/reappear, i found two solutions:
      1. Create a mod withe the logs files from your Overwrite folder (rightcliok on your overwrite folder) in MO2 and then activate the mod.
      2. Go to the Ini Settings and turn off Logging:
DllLoader.ini located in Data\Plugins\Sumwunn contains these options:

      iEnableLogging=1
      ; 0 = Disabled.
      ; 1 = Enabled.

      AND

AchievementsModsEnabler.ini located in Data\Plugins\Sumwunn contains these options:

      bEnableLogging=1
      ; false/0 = Disabled.
      ; true/1 = Enabled.

-Edit-  installed the dll loader and it appears to be working now.   Sorry!
Hey, there is no .ini file in the mod files?   it won't work i've tried to get it to but the "AchievementsModEnabler.ini" file is missing.  I
manually downloaded another fresh 1.2 version but it's missing there as
    well.  What do I do?

Unfortunately, after the last Skyrim update (1.6.1170), this mod no longer works with SKSE. Got the following error when launching the game:

    SKSE Plugin Loader (2.2.6)

A DLL plugin has failed to load correctly. If a new version of Skyrim was just released, the plugin needs to be updated. Please check the mod's webpage for updates.

AchievementsModsEnablerLoader.dll: reported as incompatible during load

EDIT: I managed to get it working. Previously, I installed it using Wrye Bash, now I reinstalled it manually (without mod manager) and now it works.
I assume that Wrye Bash messed up the files somehow...?

I can also confirm that it works with .1170.

Edit: Also adding steam_appid.txt seems to be no longer needed, so they must have fixed the Steam wrapper.

@krichris14 It looks like it's one of the exceptional cases when Wrye Bash cannot properly install the mod. Even if you tell WB that the package has extra directories it skips the second dll (Data\Plugins\Sumwunn\AchievementsModsEnabler.dll). So I'd recommend to install the mod manually, I doubt that other mod managers are smarter than WB (well, maybe MO2 can do it, IDK).
