Hi, I had never noticed this, but now that I have, I have to wonder, why move the rock underground as opposed to simply deleting it and moving the trees lower? My thinking is that this way there is one less thing to render, especially as it isn't going to be seen. Apologies if this was taken into consideration already, and that what you came up with is simply the best way to go about it.
I don't always do what's best -- I always do what I can according to my technical (in)abilities. Anyway, since the rock is in the mesh, deleting it makes it disappear everywhere, but many trees are in places where al least some part of the rock must be left visible (steep slopes, swamps, and so on.) It would also make this incompatible with mods editing the same trees for their own reasons (many mods do that) -- the overridden references would float.
Does the fact that a Pope launches a crusade automatically mean that his ideas are the revealed truth? I just wanted to reassure the believers that my mod complies and be done with it. Looks like I'd better modify the changelog :)
Poppycock. I just archived a 2000+ hours playthrough with thousands of saves and nothing wrong. No CTDs, no corruption, no bloating, nothing. If the re-saving was actually needed, I should have had the most wretched saves anyone has ever seen. But, of course, I respect your opinion.
Launch SSEEdit with the " -quickshowconflicts" parameter, when asked what to open chose both plugins. Expand ReachTrees and you see all the tree references conflicts. Drag and drop the full "DATA Position/Rotation" sections from ReachTrees to Myrkvior.
I don't know of an automatic way of doing it but I can see only fifty or so conflicts, it should be quick.
Given that trees cannot grow in or, through, solid rock, this file has the right idea. Now trees can push there way though loose rock true, but they still need a lot of soil and moisture or else a tree like that will never grow to the size you see in game. When you see a tree growing out of a rock in the real world, what is really happening is the tree is pushing through cracks in the rock. Supposedly the reach tree was a deliberate design choice on BGS part, but I am unaware if there is any RL analogue to that tree we can point to, the way it is presented in game.
From the interwebs
While we know that trees cannot actually grow out of bare rock, they can begin to grow from small amounts of soil and debris that collect in pockets of the rock. Over time the tree may grow well enough to send roots into the rock itself, causing the rock to split and making it appear that the tree has sprung from within the rock instead of from its surface.
Exactly. Even if the odd tree did appear that way, it be as much illusion as reality. You could point at a rare example and say, "look, that tree is growing on that rock". This would be at best, partly true. Nor does nature operate the way video games developers think it does, by taking an identical model and cut an pasting it hundreds of times either. In reality, the overwhelming majority of trees of the reach (or anywhere) would grow the way your file has set to them, in the soil. Trees cannot derive much in the way of nutrients from solid rock, again, a detail game devs who work 16 hour days in a cubicle, dont realize.
I dont mind trees or vegetation in game growing between crack in rocks. I do mind trees that have been placed in solid, bare rock and move them when I see it.
a lot of juniper (the type of trees) do grow on the cliffs on rock. Look up Juniper trees, rocks or cliff. Their attempt was meh though as they are very dry areas where this growth happens.
Excellent mod, I like fixes that improve immersion. I wish I could make improvements too. Could you explain your procedure more precisely. If you have the time Thank you. successful continuation
It's as simple as it's time-consuming. CK, open Skyrim and DLCs --- ObjectWindow --- Tree. Filter "TreeReach" (no quotes) --- right-click "Use Info" --- double-click --- look at the situation --- reposition at pleasure --- save.

And this is with your mod.
Or maybe it doesn't on Morndas.

I should mention, thanks for the mod
When you download and install mods, it is your responsibility for your game.
Please note that the changelog doesn't include my opinion about the Crusade nor the Pope ;)

Since there are more than one thousand of them, I think I'll pass.
