If you are installing this patch after already visiting the cell with the book or on an already existing save, it may not move the book. There isn't really anything that can be done about this. Also, I have no idea whether this patch will work with Skyrim AE since I have no plans purchasing Skyrim a 4th (or maybe 5th) time.
Hey, there. I would have put this into an actual message, but the Nexus currently won't let me, so I'll have to ask this here. I was playing around on Xbox last night, finally decided to actually do Pets of Skyrim. Worth bearing in mind that I've only recently started playing with ALL the CC content installed, which is why it's taken me so long! Anyway, I go through most of it, buy Hilda and that's when I notice that there's still an objective nearby that I can't do anything about, owing to the ramp covering up that poor man's bedroll. I pointed this out to a friend of mine who's responsible for porting JK's Interiors and the associated patches, hoping he'd be able to pass the info on to the people who make the patches for JK's Skyrim and he found this little number for me. Unfortunately, as you're not with the team who normally makes those patches, we can't just have the person who would normally port them to Xbox handle it. With that in mind, would you mind awfully adding public porting permission to the relevant tab? From what I understand, it's too late for this character even with the patch, but I'll be starting over in a few months anyway when LOTD updates again and I'd appreciate being able to actually complete the quest when I do. Entirely up to you, of course, but we simply don't have an alternative on console right now. Hope to hear from you soon and thank you for your time.
Any chance of this mod being ported to the xbox? I have no knowledge of how to do this otherwise I'd be asking permission to do it myself. There is no patch for this currently on the XBOX, only here on Nexus.
If you have issues with existing save game you can point at the objects which are not relocated then open the console and type recycleactor if this does not work you will have to no-clip to get the quest book near the goat.
Book is placed in persistent cell. If u already started quest u wont be able to get it. Even with this. Book will stay under the ramp , only bedroll will move
That is what I thought but JK and a creator has a script which updates persistent references on game load so I am going to take a peek at that script and add that into this mod then hopefully with some minor changes to tell it what references to update we should be golden.
If anyone is still having issues with getting the damn book, and the tcl command isn't working for them for one reason or another. In that case, the only thing I have to suggest is to save at a location away from any city or town, exit the game, and disable all JK's Skyrim-related mods. After that, hop back in, head to the town, get the goat and book, Fast travel to some location far away from any towns or cities, then enable them again. It sucks, but it's a temporary annoyance if done right.
Ok, I tried what I think would work, and it might be just me and how I've set up my mods, but DO NOT DO WHAT I DID! What I got was my character's head, minus her teeth, going poof, her casting spells repeatedly, and a bunch of MCM errors flashing on the screen. So try something else, anything else, other than what I did, if you want to try to get that damn journal.
NO this most just needs to use the same script that JK uses to update persistent references locations, that way existing save games will self update the reference location of these placed objects on CELL load otherwise locations are baked into your save and this mod will do nothing on an existing save.
I installed this mid-play and realised that these are possible persistent objects so this mod won't take effect as the bedroll for the Goat was never moved in my game so far even with this mod I had used no clip to get to the pets quest book.
JK Skyrim found a way with another creator to have a script update the persistent object referencesyou may wish to poke around there so that persistent objects get moved to your new locations in an existing save.
FYI I deleted the bedroll from the world by marking it for removal so that is done and never coming back now at least I don't know how to bring it back now :P
