Battlemage Extended

here was a time when battlemages were amongst the most feared in combat; not for their prowess in magic and sword, no, but for their ability to merge both as if they were one and the same.

The practice of the battlemages, the Extension of Energies, as they called it, has since been lost since the third era. Fortunately, I managed to find most of its scrolls detailing its methods and compiled all the information in this book.

Battlemage Extended comes in two forms: a set of armor and a sword. The battlemages used the power called ?Materialize? in order to conjure their magical equipment. Charging a spell on the left hand produces the armor, while charging a spell on the right produces the sword.

Both armor and weapons possess different capabilities, which I will outline in the next few pages.

Interestingly enough, the Extended Battkemages also have the ability to open a pocket dimension where they can store their belongings. They do this by charging two Conjuration spells, but rather than casting it, they sheathe it. Certainly a useful skill to have.

lteration.

The Alteration armor further augments your natural defenses against physical damage. It also grants you insight into the resistances of the enemies you face by activating this power as if to speak to them. As your power grows, the armor will be strong enough to force enemies to drop their weapons upon hitting you. At the peak of its power, you can create a field of force via sprinting that would stop enemies in their tracks.

The Alteration sword is naturally stronger than the other Extended swords, and it has the ability to rend the defenses of your enemies. Further, power-striking at a fallen foe would convert its worn equipment into precious ores and leathers. You also convert their body into salts, and you can gather Fire, Frost, or Void Salts by hitting the body with the appropriate element.

onjuration.

The Conjuration armor grants information on the spells being cast on you. This otherworldly knowledge allows you to curse the caster, preventing any further spells from being cast. As your power grows, so does the armor's extra-planar abilities. Any daedra, ghosts, or summoned creatures that attack you become paralyzed. At the armor's strongest, it passively absorbs the energies of nearby corpses, recovering your health and magicka, leaving behind a soul gem, and raising them all as your thralls.

The Conjuration sword tears down your enemies' link to Aetherius, absorbing their magicka as your own. Enemies slain by the sword are also raised immediately as your thrall and converts what is left of their conscious mind into a soul gem. This also occurs when power-striking a fallen enemy.

llusion.

The Illusion armor is unique in that it augments mobility and stealth. Holding your walk and then jumping would enable you to leap greater heights. As the armor evolves, it will grant you invisibility while sneaking. At its strongest, the armor can mire the mind of your enemies, causing them to attack each other should they be foolish enough to hit you.

The Illusion sword is even more unique at stealth. Just holding the weapon silences your movement. If you hold the sprint key for about five seconds, you place a marker on the ground. This marker enhances your ability to sneak, and if you deal a successful sneak attack on an enemy, the sword teleports you back to the marker.

The Restoration armor augments your natural healing and recovery and it will cure any disease you have once you don it. As you become more accustomed to its nuances, your healing spells synergize with the armor, causing a shockwave that heals your allies and staggers your enemies. At your most powerful, you can create a field via a short sprint. This field causes your enemies to fear you, while undead are either pushed back or are outright disintegrated. While in this field, you and your allies recover much faster.

The Restoration sword in itself is harmless. It heals people who are not hostile to you. Though those who are, however, will get hurt, but its power is less so compared to the other swords. Against undead, however, its power is devastating. Its most unique ability is to raise the dead. Strike hard at the fallen and they might come back to life. Those who used to fight you become too scared once they realize your power.

The Fire armor naturally increases your resistance to fire and its heat rejuvenates your stamina. This armor also augments your fire spells and reduces their magicka cost. As you increase in destructive capabilities, so does the armor's, blasting your attackers with flames. At its most powerful, the armor envelops you in flames while you sprint, burning and pushing enemies aside and leaving a trail of fire behind you.

The Fire sword reduces the enemy's fire resistance and is blasted by fire damage. Power attacking an enemy produces an explosion that blows away nearby enemies.

The Frost armor increases your resistance to the cold, its tough exterior increasing the armor?s defensive capabilities. As it grows more powerful, it begins to sap enemies of their stamina. At its strongest, you can jump to create a block of ice that staggers nearby enemies and blocks their path.

The Frost sword douses the enemy in cold, lowering its frost resistance. Power attacking an enemy might freeze them in place for a short duration.

The Shock armor increases your resistance to shocking effects. Its electric field has a chance of shocking enemies that strike you. At its most powerful, press the print key to create a field of pure anti-magic. Casters in the field lose all their magicka and lose the ability to recover magicka for a few moments.

The Shock sword's electric properties reduces their shock resistance. When hit by a power attack, they become a lightning rod that shocks other enemies.
