This is wonderful :) If you always carry around a sleeping bag or tent, you actually have to try and find a safe spot to rest with your follower now. I always had an urge to roleplay this, but no means to do so. So this is kind of a wish come true for immersive playing. Thank you!
Enemies ALWAYS appear when your sleeping cycle is done. So if you set sleep for 5 they show up after. Sleep for 2 they show up after 2...They don't actually interrupt your sleep, which I was hoping for as that makes more sense and adds the challenge.
I suppose the chance does increase for every hour you do sleep...so that's good.
"The longer you sleep the more likely they are to find you" Does this run the chance each hour of sleep? Does this increase the chance % each hour? How do we calculate this? I understand the basic calculation but would like to know how number of hours applies.
I did a quick test and love it. Clean, simple, effective. Use the console "help install" and "player.additem xxxxxxxxx" to get the install potion. You can use "coc lostknifehideout01" or go to Embershard Mine to test if you have a lay down mod or bedroll mod.
"set iSnoreChance to 25" will give 25% chance of night encounter outside 31.25% chance of night encounter inside 50% chance of day encounter outside 62.5% chance of day encounter inside.
"set iSnoreChance to 20" will give 20% chance of night encounter outside 25% chance of night encounter inside 40% chance of day encounter outside 50% chance of day encounter inside.
"set iSnoreChance to 15" will give 15% chance of night encounter outside 18.75% chance of night encounter inside 30% chance of day encounter outside 37.5% chance of day encounter inside
"set iSnoreChance to 10" will give 10% chance of night encounter outside 12.5% chance of night encounter inside 20% chance of day encounter outside 25% chance of day encounter inside
Ooh, nice; like the Darkest Dungeon ambush chance. Appropriately enough, fits nicely as a way to balance resting to reduce stress with Dark Corners of Nirn.
could something similar be done in a similar fashion for fast travel (or in my case cfto) just a dice role that could strand the player with enemies at a preselected location (somewhere on the route between cities) that's lighter weight and cleaner than current options
I used the Standalone SoT mod and I agree it was dreadful. Encounters happened way too often, and there were 3-4 insanely overpowered and completely random enemies each time. It wasn't fun at all (for a level one character). This mod, iSnore, seems to take into account your surrounding area and doesn't spawn its own enemies, so you have a much better way of measuring whether it's safe to sleep or not. With the SoT mod, I was attacked in my home, in inns, etc, and it was highly UNimmersive. But really it's a matter of taste. I think people who just want the possibility of having their sleep disturbed by a sensible enemy will find SoT standalone sleep encounters mod way too much.

and thank you this is very nicely done
Simple, clean, slick, and does the job.
Finally can say byebye to that dreadful Sands of time mod since I just wanted this feature
There is a standalone SoT Version with just the Sleep Encounter part. How do you like iSnore? Is it better than SoT?
edit: I just remember you can customize all the parameters for SoT
