Original Old Skyrim version updated link (Nexus changed URL path at the time without bothering to provide automated URL redirection). There are no differences with the SE version behavior so it makes no sense to port back SE version to old Skyrim, they are already the same.
The only actual working fire damage mod in 2025, as far as I can sell. A little over sensitive on the hitboxes sometimes (cooking is very dangerous apparently!), but otherwise it just... works.
Most of the time, walking through those big tavern fire pits don't set me on fire unless I really try to. Stand in the right place and I suffer naught.
Do you recommend this version over the Fires Hurt RE version? Because I'm confused on the difference. Are more mods compatible with this one than the RE one? i.e. Water Douses Fire, Rain Extinguishes Fire, FEC, etc...
Great mod, however i don`t recommend running this with FEC as it`ll leave burning corpses and NPCs can walk over and get hurt by them.I got in a situation where i cooked the cultists once they appeared in riverwood, and some guards got stuck on the burning corpses burning themselves, then as i entered the inn to greet our fav horn napper, the entire town turned hostile...needless to say was quite a surprise xD running the VR version.
Is the fire turning the town and guards against you a frequent occurrence with this and FEC and anyone find a fix to it? I wonder if using the fire feature in FEC that somebody mentioned would correct the bug?
For burnimg dead bodies you can use the "Arkays Cremation" mod. I've been using it for over 100 hours, no prob. It burns dead npcs into ash pile (inventory intact) and removes them when you leave the cell
I haven't tried it in-game, but I've taken a look at the small script. It's so clean and sophisticated, I had to write this appreciation post to ABitOfTaste, which we know each other since PlanetElderScrolls time...
I loved this mod, and used it in a few playthroughs, but I gave it up because I ran into a problem where using certain cookpots (Breezehome and Jorvaskr being the first ones I encountered this problem) my character would take damage (and, eventually, burn to death.)
That's not this mod's fault, but Bugthesda doing what Bugthesda does best. Diego2891 fixed their oversight by shrinking the size of the embers you can't see with Fires and Embers Clipping Fix.
