The lockpicking menu is supposed to close automatically if you trigger the trap. This feature may not work if you use a gamepad. If you encounter this bug, please leave a comment either here or in the bug section specifying what type of gamepad you are using.
Interesting mod, good idea - especially in conjunction with a deadlier traps mod. Without Ordinator lockpick perk tree compatibility though there is no chance for it to make it into my load order. Any hope for a patch? Would be cool. The implementation right now is sub par script-wise.
As explained in the description, you can edit record "DTD_LockpickingPerksFormList" and make the mod take whatever perk from whatever mod into account. I have no intention to make patches for this.
Thanks for this tidbit. I've always used this mod with Imroved Traps Dangerous Edition and Subliminal Traps. So, if anyone is using some perk mod, only thing you have to do is open this mod in SSEEDit, and copy DTD_LockpickingPerksFormList as override to new file (pick esl) name it what you like and then scroll down in SSEEDIT and find your new file and then add your perk mod of choise as master, then it will automatically set the lockpicking perks right. Exit and save.
Are there any plans to make the chance scale with level of lockpicking, as opposed to perks? It would work better with Vokrii and the progression would generally feel more natural.
I second this even though I don't use any mods that modify the Lockpicking perk tree. The current implementation encourages people to invest in Lockpicking perks when they usually wouldn't, but I'm stubborn.
Edit: I'm currently analyzing the script, and I think I more or less figured out how to make this mod skill-based instead of perk-based. Keep in mind, though, that I have practically no experience with Papyrus whatsoever, let alone implementing scripts in Skyrim mods.
esl file wont add towards the plugin limit of Skyrim, esp will.
esl files will be treated as masters though and load before all other esp files. The more common option today is to keep it as an esp but mark it as ESL, which will still treat it as a normal plugin, but also not count towards the limit. I do not know why the author didn't do this.
I get a CTD when breaking a pick while playing with my Xbox One controller. I play with a custom controlmap.txt for my controller layout. I've tried experimenting with a few things, but I still get a CTD when breaking a pick while playing on a gamepad. I can unplug the controller and break the pick with m/kb and it works fine.
I'm happy to help root out the source of this bug if you want. Thanks for the great work on the mod btw, it's a shame I'll have to play without it for now.
This is also happening for me. I'm using Xbox Pro Controller with Gamepad ++ (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/27007) using their custom control map and also I am using Lethal traps (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/3860) as well. The lockpicking menu also does not close automatically on the rare occasion I do not CTD.

I'm also using Ordinator, so not sure if the CTD is due to the comment below, but I haven't invested any perk points into lockpicking.
[Edit] I made a quick patch just by copying the formlist to my master CR esp that has ordinator as a master and tried failing on the trap and didn't get a CTD this time, however the lockpicking interface never went away (still due to the gamepad I suppose) - hopefully this patch fixed my CTD? I still need to do more testing. Heres a screenshot of the patch: https://imgur.com/a/sYuLN4b
It might be a good idea to add information about this mod expecting the lockpicking mastery perks to be in their vanilla state. Playing this mod with the likes of ordinator or vokrii will result in CTD whenever breaking a pick in a lock would result in the trap triggering. The reason for that, I believe, is because this mod will look for the "novice/apprentice/adept/expert/master locks" perks, but won't find it.
Any way to change the chance of traps triggering? I'd mainly be looking to reduce it, others might possibly want it to be higher (although it already seems pretty high to me)
For now it's hardcoded in the script, and I'm not totally happy about that. So I'm going to make at least a general chance multiplier accessible though a global variable.
if you download VS code and install the extension "Papyrus," or get "Papyrus Compiler" off the SSE nexus (creation kit required for either) you can modify the source code and recompile it. line 71 is the one you want to change. you could change the 10 slightly or increase the 5 i think
Hi, Skepmanmods! I hope, mod does not rely on a lock picking UI opened state? I am asking because your mod would be a nice addition to No Lock Picking. It it complatible?

This mod is now featured on my True Graphics and Immersion List
