Vortex says this mod is redundant because it is wholly contained in Flora Overhaul. Is this mod dead or have I done something wrong?

Well... since it replaces the original textures of SFO with textures looking the same but being lower resolution , it ofc are the same files and nothing more than in SFO.
Its not redundant it does what it does...

BTW, this is way Vortex is bulls*** for veteran modders, because it tries to tell you what to do instead of just letting you do what you want to do.
It should not even write "redundant" because it does not know why you have installed them in the first place.

For me Vortex was telling me that was redundant, but i just dismiss and it just worked, the mod works and do what is suppose to do. It's just Vortex sometimes meesing up with the files, just installed this mod after SFO and VOILA! no more msj.

Vortex has been a bloody mess for me since I started using SKSE. I highly recommend to use ModManager instead of Vortex. It first scared me off but I quickly got into it and everything works 100% better than with Vortex, I can assure ye that.

Mod Organiser 2 or Wrye Bash. Everything else is irrelevant.

Avoid Vortex like plague..It's just plain bad, same like NMM. Just use MO2, and your'e good to go.

maybe if you guys know how to use vortex you would not be complaining about such great tool.
bruh you let SFO overwrite this mod so OF COURSE vortex would rightly gives you that error =))
best comment goes to the person that said he ignored the warning but he also give confirmation that this mod worked :p

What compression format was used for these files? I keep hearing BC7 is what I should use if compressing files -- I'm wondering if that's what's already been done here.

BC7 is more efficient but if the originals were already compressed you don't want to compress them again because it can make textures look blurry.

Cathedral Asset Optimizer can reduce the size without compressing them again.

Is this compatible with the new 2.72D version of SFO?

    That looks good. VR Friendly.
I never understood the hype behind 4k size vs 2k-1k size. Just stick with anything higher then 516 with nice polished high quality and add Parallax, it will lower some VRAM strain on your GPU and let your CPU do wonders.
This was a game that was supposed to fix Fallrim - Oldrim- for no reason Crashrim and we still managed to break it
But i am also not a fan of high poly because that's 10 times more polygons for almost no visual impact that just tries to tire your CPU and increasing cell and object loading.

Static Mesh Improvement and Parallax project are good though.

I know what it is: The authors try to make us buy an RTX 3060 Well, bad luck, unless the circus theatre of Covid GPU prices ends, NO WAY! Who pays 1k for just 1 PC component anyway... That could be a new Shotgun lol

Works great. SFO manages to max out my RTX 3080 quite easily in 4K, so this really helped a lot. Thanks.

Using an ENB, of course we can see frame drops, so I thought I'd try this, but I don't visually, or performance see any differences, I'm not using this for VR.

Maybe now this is irrelevant for regular PC use.

Also the so called mysterious phantom bushes that appear with SFO, and there's even a mod for it called No LOD bushes for v.2.72D.

This mod calls it redundant, but if it's not used, then I still see these sometimes...

I'll avoid for now for regular PC usage, I see no changes.

Your mileage may vary, mine didn't LOL...

    Hmm

If it's redundant, you placed it before SFO. Needs to be after

Great! The visual difference isn't noticeable too much, but the performance-wise is far better now - I'm using Dense Nordic Forests mod with SFO trees and it can get hard for my system to handle certain ovegrown areas smoothly, so this is a must have, in my case at least. Thanks!
