24/12/18 1.3 Addresses issue where you are not able to tag a container - caused by compacting form ID's & flagging as .esl...

I will not make any changes to this mod unless there is an issue directly related to the port.

Container labels can easily be changed using xEdit.
To change the opening "X" message you will need to change & recompile the source scripts (supplied).

I use an adapted version of the original for use with Adura's Merchant Mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/20161
If there is any call for it, I will upload and maintain that file.

to get it to work the scripts folder must be moved out of the data folder or the esp has to be moved to the data folder.

    thank you

I installed this mod and I can add the spell, but it doesn't open any GUI to select which chest to open or tag. I can see that there is a magical effect occurring, but it does nothing.

This might fit something i always felt was vacant. I imagine you can set this to small sacks. (not so game breaking for my purpose). Then use each of them as a "pouch" so your things can be kept separate and not all jumbled in the inventory. I like different outfits when i to different things and just hate sorting them and cluttering my inventory. Lets go find out.

Edit 1 : Upon crouching and using the spell, I get a msg : Open a container to set it as your custom storage. (Will overwrite and previous setting!)
Nothing happens after that point. The container will not let you open it for about 2 seconds. It seems to hang while the "open a container ..." msg is on the screen. . The container did not give an option to chose the category. If i drop things in it, i cannot access it through the standing casting. I get the funky msg error.

If you use something like "Dwemer Storage Cube" or "LOTD" they an abundance of chests that you can use to fit your purpose with this mod. Once set you'll never actually need to visit them again, unless of course you want to.

Not all containers (I suspect due to re-spawning/ownership etc) can be tagged.

I'm having the same issue as Brandy_123. After sneaking, I use the spell, then open a container and there is no menu to set the container type.

Nice idea, but there already exists an excellent mod by phinix on the nexus for SSE that does this and goes beyond. It came out in June 2017 and I use it ever since. The older version 1.13 still works without SKSE and JContainers SE, but I like all the new features and use SKSE anyway.

this sounds like that one mod I wish could get ported, skyrim onechest.

I guess I will try this one out to replace the summoner's chest mod I am currently using, with no baggage, spawning a chest.

Well, you know what they say. "If you want something doing, then do it yourself". :)

Here is the guide I used to get started:
      https://wiki.nexusmods.com/index.php/Porting_Skyrim_mods_to_Skyrim_Special_Edition

I have done a lengthy list of ports (check my forum profile for the complete list) and all except one have been successful. The one that I am unable to port is Hotkeys++ as it has a .dll file that is (at this stage) beyond me to de-compile.
