Re-optimized the main file and added patches from the original mod. Crossbow bolts should spin now. Unlike Falmer arrows(no spinning meshes to speak of).
So the mod only makes the vanilla arrows spin and not the modded arrows? On LE I installed a Spinning Arrows mod which also allowed mod arrows to spin. Im using Orcish arrows from Dragonslayer bow mod.
cough. DANGIT. THE DESCRIPTION PAGE AND THE NAME OF THE MDO MADE ME THINK THE ARROW SPUN HORIZONTALLY AS A WHOLE LIKE LEFT TO RIGHT OR VICE VERSA, NOT REVOLVING MIDAIR!!!!!!!!!! IM SO SAD NOW.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Howdy. This conflicts with a few ENB Light mods (ENB Light for arrows is one). Should this win the conflict or should the ENB Light mods win it? Thanks!
Modern arrows tend to spin because they are fletched to spin. However, if you look at the actual models in the game, they are straight fletched, which means any spin would be small and unintentional. So, the guy does have a point, but at the same time, its a game and you can mod what the hell you like. ;)
I came to these forums looking to see if anyone would be able to introduce a wobble, or choice for spin and wobble. Since the cinematic are slowed down I think it would be visible and be even more immersive than spinning. I don't know how they get leaves to look like they blow in the wind but if they could apply that somehow on arrows i think that might be all you have to do. I dont know :)
I'm a real life archer and I can confirm that they do in fact spin. This is to introduce gyroscopic stabilisation into the arrow, for the same reason that rifling makes bullets spin. Real life arrows bend and flex when they are released from the bow, which produces inaccuracy as it wobbles it's way to it's target very much like a piece of spaghetti. Spinning the arrow with angled fletches/vanes stabilises the arrow as it flies, straightening it out. Feathered arrows spin as they are naturally curved, because each of the feathers is from the same wing of whatever bird that produced them, right or left. Mixing right and left feathers on the same arrow makes the arrow behave like it's drunk and you'll probably miss your target. Even when they aren't designed to spin on purpose, arrows do tend to spin anyway to a degree because of sidewind effects.
I am a lifelong archer. I shoot minimum three times a week in the mountains. I cut and fletch my own arrows, and am just finishing tillering yet another longbow. I teach archery and bowhunt. My wife accuses me of loving my bows more than her. I am aware of all the prevailing arguments in the archery world, from archer's paradox to arrow spin.
And I love this mod.
People kvetching about 'arrows not spinning in flight' need to relax and get out in the woods more.
how could i make this work with modded arrows? i have some arrows that i'd freakin love to see spin through the air but they dont spin bc this mod only covers vanilla arrows
