Check out Enchanting Adjustments and Price-Charge Bug Fix for a more refined implementation. Use either this or that mod.

Also, you can check this option: Scrambled Bugs which is based on  .NET Script Framework.
It does what this mod do and many many more wonderful things. I replaced at least 5 different mods with it :)

    Hello
I'm reporting a bug related to the engine.
Skyrim has a Spellsword style of follower combat bug.
This bug only occurs with followers.
    (ex Serana)
If the combat style of the follower has magic cast on his left and right hands, and if he takes out a nearby sword and attacks, the battle status lasts indefinitely even after the battle is over.
When bugs occur, followers normally use magic in long-range combat, but in close combat, they do not use weapons or magic in their right hand, but only the magic in their left hand.

This bug is not caused by an additional mode and is a problem with the Skyrim engine itself.

For example, in the case of Serana,

From a long distance, use ice magic with both hands, and when close, use a knife in your right hand and drain magic in your left hand.

When a bug occurs, do not pull out the right sword from the proximity (the right hand is empty hand), and use only life drain magic on the left hand.
When the battle is over, even if you don't have an enemy, you'll use a life drain forever.

I think the engine bug between magic and sword change is the cause.

To fix a bug, click on the buggy follower in console mode and disable-enable it.
(The 'resetai' will only end the battle, but it will not be a fundamental solution)

To test the occurrence of a bug, you can make the follower fight in the 'karthspire camp'.
If a follower kills all the forceworns, a bug will occur with a high probability.
(For the bug test, apply the mode on the link below, set Serana to level 50 or higher, and try to fight alone
    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1KPENycioppRJX57xx-qWz71DfgW64Yrz/view?usp=sharing
    )

I would appreciate it if you test the bug and appreciate it if you could add a function to ENGENE FIX.

The YouTube link is a recording of a bug outbreak and you can refer to the last part.

Does this bug still exist in the latest version of SE?

This mod no longer works, SE won't even start for me if I load this mod into MO2.

So I'm not sure if the Enchanting Adjustments and Price-Charge Bug Fix is actually still needed?

Can someone please please please make this mod and the Chaos damage effect fix that is included play nicely with Enchanting Adjustments and Price-Charge Bug Fix  / https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/21055

Enchanting Adjustments and PCBF removes the ability to learn the Chaos enchantment all together, while Enchantment Reload Fix actually fixes the Chaos enchantment scaling properly. Is anyone willing to make a patch, so the Chaos damage enchantment can still be learned while using Enchanting Adjustments and PCBF?

Many players who appreciate a bug-free game would be forever grateful.

If Enchanting Adjustments and Price-Charge Bug Fix's approach to the chaos enchantment was nothing but removing the ability to learn it, all you have to do is revert the "base enchantment" field in the various versions (except the base one) of the enchantment, and that will make it learnable again. you can do this in SSEedit fairly quickly as a small patch.

What I don't like is that there is no official confirmation that this mod actually fixes the chaos enchantment. How would anyone confirm it ^actually^ readjusts the fire and frost damage values? It honestly doesn't sound like a related issue to the reload fix

Can this be used safely with these?

Looks like they do different things so I'm hoping they play nicely together.

So far as I can tell, they do. cant confirm everything works as intended but it wont crash the game.

Please make your mod version independent on SKSE. This is now possible by using this resource: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/32444

I was just about to post the same thing, seeing the new SSE Engine Fixes 5.0 beta. It is only a month old, but if this could really work reliably it would be godsend for both the creators and users...

In case somebody is waiting for an update with the Address Library, this mod will not benefit from it even though it has a .dll extension, so such an update will not come.

So can this mod be used as is without the address library or do we have to wait for an update ?

It doesn't use the address library and although the files are named according to the game's runtime version I am fairly certain that the mod is SKSE version dependent as well, which means that it has to be updated for 2.0.19.

Edit: I've noticed my enchantments running low more than usual, so I've contacted Vermunds to recompile the mod with the newest SKSE version. It could be that an update is not needed, if so I'll update my post here in case Vermunds replies to my message but doesn't post a reply here.

Edit 2: I have been able to fix the issue by simply enchanting and using new weapons after installing the new SKSE 2.0.19 version. I sold the old custom enchanted weapons to make sure no weapons remain in the game that don't have the fixed enchantments. So an update for the new SKSE 2.0.19 is not needed, but after updating SKSE any previously custom enchanted weapons will behave as if the mod is not installed.
