It didn't work and then it did. To elaborate: Early in the game I had a 40 gold bounty in Dawnstar so I went and altered my character's face at the face-changer twice but the bounty remained. Later, towards the end of the Dark Brotherhood questline, I gained the inevitable 1500 gold bounty in Solitude and gave the face-changer another go and the bounty vanished like it should've. I don't know if the script checks for bounties in each hold separately or if it only works for bounties over a certain value. I must test it further with a minor crime spree in each hold. I love the concept behind this mod as it just makes sense.

But shouldn't the guards eventually realize who you are if you continue using your house for example?

The guards are debilitatingly stupid by default. Their spoken dialogue can be evidence of that as well as their AI.

but how are all the other npc still recognizing the player correctly? Well... Mysterious question that Bethesda will probably never answer ;)

It's their helmets. They can't see jacks**t out of those tiny eyeholes.

Just imagine the guards as the same as rent-a-cops.

Not compatible with any mod altering the face changer's script: DLC1SurgeryScript

Just pointing this out to those who didn't read the description or did but remain unaware. This mod does conflict with Growl by EnaiSiaion. They both alter the face changer's surgery script. Growl adds a check to see if the player character is a werebear, to prevent the use of the face changer's services.

Now I kinda wish your spouse and kids didn't recognize you any more either. Second honeymoon, and the kids run away?

Guess it's easier than a Skyrim style divorce?

    In response to post #69851493.

    Spoiler:
    Show

Hmm could it be conflict related to RaceMenu? Since i also change my face twice and the bounty not gone..

I'm not running RaceMenu, or anything else that affects character creation.

It doesn't appear to be working for me and I can't for the life of me figure out why. I pay the sculptor, make some changes, but the bounty is still there in my stats and guards still come after me.

As far as I can tell everything appears to be installed correctly and I can't imagine I would have anything that conflicts with it.

Lol. Makes sense I guess, but damn. The idea is funny as hell.

Criminal #1: What are you doing, pal?
Criminal #2: Just changing my face *casually changes his face*

Nothing casual about it i remeber reasing that face changing was something akin to someone using very precice destuction magic on your face and then using highly advanced restoration to heal it in a different shape.
      So its more lie
      Criminal #1 ahhhhhhhh
Criminal #2 i'd rather just pay off my bounty

This is similar to my issue with the old Nicholas Cage move "Face Off".

I had to think, wouldn't HIS WIFE at least notice that there was a different man in her bed?

I mean, there are some things ladies remember...

yes and she remembered the important bits so the face was less important in bed.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned (or maybe the mod already exists) the possibility of hoods or masks concealing your identity. It's probably outside the scope of this mod but it would be awesome to have sort of a light disguise system that can disable your bounty, but could be uncovered by a nearby guard or something.

Either way, this is a must-have for Skyrim, and seems to really increase the viability of the face sculptor. Great work as always, Arthmoor

Sneak Tools has the hoods/masks thing.
