@Zhalroth 1st I want to thank you for sharing your patches.
The following is not a critic on you or your work, but my thoughts about releasing ESL flagged plugins publicly without bug fixes or compatibly changes. I suspect “RUSTIC SOULGEMS - Unsorted – Patch” could be seen as problematic.
I just compared (sseedit) the file with the original Rustic Soul Gems .esp, they are identical except the ESL flag. I don’t know the rules of patches, but I could see a problem here as it does not actually fix a problem but just marks it differently for the game engine. I guess that would not qualify as a proper "patch" but as a rerelease. To me it qualifies more like a Form 43 / 44 fix... but not completely as a form 43 could be seen as a problem that needs to be fixed, on the other hand just flagging an ESP as ESL because of the plugin limit could be a seen as personal choice rather than a public need.
In General: I can understand the need behind your ESL flagged “patches”, but I fear that’s for the mod creators to decide if they want to release an ESL Flagged version of their mods (similar logic is IMHO true for the Form 43/44 problem). If the creators have not given their explicit permission to do whatever we want with their creations, this kind of proceeding could be seen as problematic.
You might consider offering it to Gamwich. IMS, this was the first and last time he offered any mod with a plug-in, and only because it was a necessity. The only downside to the ESL format is that it would not work with Qwinn's patch for compatibility with the Immersive Sounds Compendium, but those records could be easily merged.
That patch will still work so long as the file only has the esl flag, rather than the actual file extension. The flag is part of the extension, but by itself only kicks the data in the file to the FE index. It still obeys load order, and the file name doesn't change.
Just so you know, there's already a patch between Better Dynamic Snow and Majestic Mountains https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/20102 Immersive Citizens already has a patch for ELFX Enhancer, so why do you add one?
The entire reason I made many of these is because I was above the mod limit. Merging mods together is less convenient when trying to reorder mods or debug issues. Since I went through the trouble of creating them, I figured I might as well post them.
ELFXEnhancer - Immersive Citizens Patch how important is this from 1-10 ? I use TES5Edit Merges so I cannot go over 253 plugins doesn't matter if it's a .esl or a.esl-lite sadly
