    -- FAQ --
Q: Can I use just the textures or do I need to have the esp enabled and meshes?
A: Yes, you can use the textures only, textures with this meshes or the whole thing with .esp enabled if you want General Carius set.
The textures have been made to look good either way.

Q: Can I use this textures with other mesh replacers like Practical Female Armors, Improved Closefaced helmets, CBBE, etc?
A: Yes, it is compatible*. Just ensure that the meshes you want to have ingame are installed afterwards. Those meshes likely won't use enviroment mapping though, the textures have been made to look good that way but if you want to fully utilize the mod you could have the next question now.
*Note the sleeves and pant optional would require a compatiblity patch with any mesh replacer that affects the same meshes.

Q: If I'm using meshes from a replacer, how do I enable enviroment mapping?
A: It's very easy, here are some instructions for nifskope:
    Spoiler:
    Show
    Download nifskope from: link
Open the meshes included in this mod and your replacer side by side.
Expand the tree as needed and locate the "BSLightingShaderProperty" nodes of the armor parts, not the body parts.
    Ensure the following lines match:
    > Skyrim Shader Type (Default or enviroment mapping, note not all parts need enviroment mapping, match what's used in my meshes)
    > Shader Flags 1 (enviroment mapping flag enabled or not)
    > Glossiness (50 - 80)
    > Specular Strength (1.0 - 2.0)
    > Enviroment map scale (0.5 - 1.0)
Then expand it's children node "BSShaderTextureSet" and make sure all the paths match. Be careful with the slot the paths go.

Yes, I didn't see anything wrong in the game when I converted to esl.

It seems unlikely but I was able to upgrade the Imperial Studded Armor before this mod.
Considering I have no other mods messing with that armor and this mod seems to be "aesthetic" only, what could have happened?

EDIT 1: Vortex was able to install the fix from non SE to AE Studded Imperial Armor - Tempering Fix at Skyrim Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com)

To any that are looking for a way to use 3BA or HIMBO and have sleeves but don't know how to use OutfitStudio/have the time to learn how to use it, here is a workaround that I used to get this mods textures with sleeved Imperial Armor:

You will need three mods (in addition to 3BA/HIMBO and BodySlide to build your body preset):

Frankly HD Imperial Armor and Weapons (this mod, referred to as "Frankly IAW" from here on)
Imperial Armors and Weapons Retexture SE (referred to as "IAWR" from here on)
3BA and HIMBO Bodyslide for Imperial Armors and Weapons Retexture SE (referred to as "IAWR 3BA" from here on)

IAWR is an Imperial Armor retexture that comes with meshes containing sleeves and pants. It includes some other cool stuff, feel free to install what you want in the FOMOD, but you must choose ALL of the options to add sleeves/pants. This mod will go first in your load order of the 3 mods listed above.

Next you will install IAWR 3BA. Install this with your mod manager normally, place below IAWR.

Last, download Frankly IAW, but don't install it yet. Make a copy of the mod on your desktop and using 7zip or whatever extracting tool you use, delete the "meshes" folder from the archive. This archive on your desktop now only contains Frankly's textures (which I find a bit more pleasing than IAWR's). Install this new archive into your load order, loading it after IAWR and IAWR 3BA, meaning it looks like:

    IAWR
    IAWR 3BA
    Frankly IAW

Your Imperial armors should now all use Frankly's HD textures with the sleeves provided by the IAWR mod, fully compatible with 3BA and HIMBO. It's kind of hacky, I know, but it works well enough for me. Remember to click "endorse" on all 3 of the mods here, the author's did amazing work!

Edit: YOU MUST BUILD "3BA Imperial" AND "HIMBO Imperial" OUTFITS FOUND UNDER THE "Unassigned" GROUP IN BODYSLIDE FOR 3BA/HIMBO TO WORK.

Upon further inspection, it turns out this isn't hacky at all, but almost intended.  YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY DO THIS.

IAWR 3BA/HIMBO applies FranklyIAW's mesh edits to enable Environment Mapping, on all the meshes by IAWR
Shout out to melius638 for doing that work for us!

      Have a look:

NOTE:  These are shown with some mix of Vanilla diffuse and IAR's other maps, I forgot to switch them to Franky's in NifSkope, as I was just inspecting properties.  Ignore the textures on these models.

Further Update: If you use BD's Armor and clothes replacer CBBE 3BA - AIO, they also also come with Environment Maps enabled.  The glossiness is set pretty low on them, only to 10 as opposed to 50/80.  You can definitely turn them up if you want, but it looked fine in testing.

This is mod edits the stats of General Carius armor set but it is not mentioned in the description. Shame. Even the most well-known modders don't understand they mustn't secretly change things in people's games.

The changes are there in the esp. You probably overrode it with something that loads later.

Late reply but others may also be interested - there is a Frankly Stormcloak mod on LE that works in SE/AE as well for that.
