    Your Feedback is Much Needed.

While you at it, do please file bug reports at the appropriate tab.

Also, will remove comments that are not constructive and/or completely derogatory.

WHY THERE ARE TWO VERSIONS TO DOWNLOAD?

The RTR (Ready to Run) version is a full package -- this includes pre-generated tree and object LOD all packed into a single archive. This is the recommended version for beginning and intermediate users and/or those using NMM or do not know how to use xLODGEN/DYNDOLOD.

The Base version is packed loose, which means either those who use Mod Organizer or for experienced users installing mods manually. However, take note that this version does NOT have object and tree LOD, which means the tree billboards and object LOD texture pack is needed when generating LOD with xLODGEN (for tree, object and terrain LOD) and DynDOLOD (for object LOD). Otherwise if installed and configured improperly you will see distant LOD snow and pine trees, as well as unwanted visuals.

Both packages include the aforementioned basic patches found in the Optional subdirectory (usually accessible in MO2 by clicking on the mod properties, Optional tab, then moving the plugins in.

    SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

These are the specs of the PC while using this mod:

    • i5 4590S processor
    • 8gb RAM
    • Sapphire RX470 Nitro+ GPU with 4gb VRAM

    INSTALLATION

Before using this mod, please read the above compatibility list, make sure you have all the DLCs installed, and create a hardsave; for existing MO playthroughs, make a full gamesave, then create a profile clone of that playthrough.

TURN OFF THE SNOW SHADER when using this mod -- go to the launcher in order to disable it.

The Ready-To-Run version can be installed through any mod manager or extracted manually. Uninstallation is done by deactivating the mod before deleting the associated files (to be sure, look inside the archive for file structure). THIS IS THE RECOMMENDED INSTALL FOR VORTEX USERS AND BEGINNERS.

The Base version -- because it has loose files, meaning to say anything can be overwritten -- can only be installed with Mod Organizer or expert manual installation by knowledgeable users with understanding of the Skyrim Data directory structure. You have been warned.

NOTE THAT YOU HAVE MY AUTHORIZATION TO MAKE PATCHES FOR OTHER MODS SUCH AS Beyond Skyrim: BRUMA, WYRMSTOOTH OR FALSKAAR (as long as you give due credit; see Permissions)

HOW TO CREATE LOD FOR OTHER WORLDSPACES?

These instructions assume that you're using MO2.

    1. Make sure that both SSELODGEN and DYNDOLOD use options to generate output into another drive and directory.
    2. Also make sure you have the tree billboards (Project Rainforest billboards must be loaded after all other billboards) and LOD textures installed, plus DYNDOLOD Resources.
    3. Run SSELODGEN, select the needed worldspaces including from other mods, then choose generation for terrain and tree LOD (required).
    4. Run DYNDOLOD, except unchecking the tree option and selecting quality options. Also take note that driftwood LOD may not show up properly, so delete it from the generation queue.
    5. Afterwards, go to the output directories of the respective generators, and use 7zip or WinRAR to choose and pack the Meshes and Textures directories.
    6. In MO2 Install the packed generated files as "mods".

    ADDENDUM:

DYNDOLOD 3.0 has a more superior Texgen which allows to create tree billboards and LOD textures from scratch, effectively limiting the use  of SSELODGEN for only creating terrain LOD textures.

    In this order:

    1. TexGen (generate textures for LOD)
    2. xLODGEN (generate terrain LOD only)
    3. DYNDOLOD 3

    THE BACKSTORY

The impetus for the creation of this mod was that a combination of factors led to me into making it:

    (1) Tropical Skyrim was no longer being updated; sure there were teasers, of warring factions wearing desert armor, but that was it as Soolie seemed to have dropped off the face of the Earth. In addition, it had a lot of bugs needed to be fixed.
    (2) Likewise, Aceeq pulled out all his climate overhauls for no apparent reason, although they were well-made.
    (3) There's some tropical worldspace mods, but many weren't to my liking as they were mostly made for screenarchery.
    (4) I've done enough vanilla flora over the years and I could make my setup nice and lore-y as Tom, Dick, and Harry's tree and grass setup, but then I wanted something different, asides that my character had a lot of warm-weather clothing that could be better used.

To be frank, I just wanted to have fun and at the same time be different.

So, on an August afternoon, bored and with little much to do and having learned using the tools and techniques needed to create proper LOD and all, I set out to do what few have ever thought of: to create a tropical overhaul inspired by my homeland and vacations to the countryside, with believable towering jungle trees, grass fields, stark granite mountains, murky swamps, azure waters, and golden beaches. And not just that, I wanted to overhaul the other DLC worldspaces in the same way, so as to ensure consistency.

That said, I created this mod not just for myself, but there are some people who wanted to take a break from all the snow and ice and this mod gives them that option as they go through the winter months in real life.

To those who downloaded this mod and gave their appreciation because it helps them, I thank you.

HOW TO CREATE PATCH FOR OTHER WEATHER MODS

    • With xEdit, open the weather plugin that you wish to use for Project Rainforest
    • Within that weather plugin, find the subgroup Region, then right-click on it and select Deep Copy into
    • Choose what type of plugin (ESL, regular ESP, or ESP with ESL flag) but it is preferable to be ESP with ESL flag (aka ESP-FE). Name it accordingly like, "Project Rainforest - NAT Patch"
    • Move to the patch you're about to work on, and start looking for weather type records that have to do with snow -- these must be removed (watch how this is done). Go through every region, removing those entries and if needed be, modify the Chance (this range from 0 to 100) for all other weather. Remember that we need only the following weather: clear, cloudy, rainy, stormy rain, fog, and their equivalents with auroras (or get rid of auroras if you would like to).
    • Once done, save the patch and test your changes in-game. Use the console command fw 81a to force clear weather initially.

Make sure the other texture packs you plan to use do not have snow or ice, and if they are present you have to remove the directories and files containing them, or limit to texture packs specific to buildings and clutter. Texture packs like Noble, SRO, Skyland, etc. which includes snow and ice retextures.

on a fresh install, i run LODGen64, then TexGen and finalizing with DynDOLOD
and yes no textures or anything extra .. just the things i need for the Rainforest to run good and great .. but still having patches of ice, glaciers near Winterhold.

I'm tagging onto this as well. Completely base install with no mods other than Project Rainforest base files (have even tried with the texture file download as well). Ran through LODGen for terrain and then TexGen and DynDOLOD. Everything looks fine except for the glaciers around Winterhold. They go to the correct textures up close, but the LOD is just vanilla ice.

an through LODGen for terrain and then TexGen and DynDOLO

Texgen first, then xLODGEN, then DYNDOLOD. This is the correct order.

After struggling with this for days, I finally discovered that DynDOLOD doesn't natively cover glaciers.
EDIT: Figured it out. You need custom glacier meshes. Get them here: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/110367

Run Texgen again. Make sure the output contains:

      \textures\lod\glacierslablod.dds
      and
      \textures\lod\glacierslablod_n.dds

And make sure those textures look like rock, and not ice.
Then run DynDOLOD again. Worked for me!

Does this affect the dlc areas? I remember someone was doing an expansion of Tropical Skyrim to affect Solsteim, not sure if it ever made its’ way to SE so does this use that or only the original tropical Skyrim that doesn’t effect DLC?

Wow! I've a friend that, unlike me - because he didn't get into adding mods - unlike me he's actually finished Skyrim's main story and doesn't play anymore. It looks like with this one mod he could totally change the look of Skyrim - without having to add locational changes to buildings and such. Such a "simple," change with just one mod.

I might use it on a future playthrough. (Assuming I actually do a first, complete, playthrough - for once.

A magical curse was put over the land.

Or this is an alternate universe.

Or the forces of Uncle Sheo have corrupted the plane and made everything (including the climate) FUBAR.

Or maybe you just want a rationalization to install immersive bikini mods.

      That's the beauty of modding.

Whe i meet tropics firs time after instal, i thinked "this is how looks postapocalipsis in Skyrim") But its really nice, since no normal summer mods correctly ported or created from scratch, this conversion best of the bests. I also tryed Springtime Overhaul, but its so buggy

If you don't like it, move on. No need for a derogatory comment to someone who worked hard at this overhaul.

I, for one, love it. I live in a northern climate and I get enough winter as is. I play tropical skyrim exclusively for years now. Absolutely love it.

If you live in Michigan like me, where we have long and cold winters, I enjoy a gaming environment in the tropics. I only play tropical Skyrim (OK, I played in Springtime for Skyrim for a while) but the tropics are my favorite. I am very grateful for this mod.

Hey man, Cyrodil used to be all Jungle until the Emperor shouted it away, so its not like it can't happen in reverse. Blame Alduin, or just enjoy it for what it is.

My personal headcanon is that when Merunes Dagon tried to destroy the world in the Oblivion crisis 200 years ago, he caused Nirn, the planet, to tilt so that Skyrim ended up on the equator. This caused tropical flora and fauna to move in.
