    Hi mate,

how does it save VRAM ? The textures size is the same as DX5.

    Edit: Got it.

The file size may be the same but BC7 compression is far superior to DXT5 in terms of overall quality loss. With BC7 compression, no visual quality is lost while improving performance. The same cannot be said for DXT1/DXT3/DXT5 compression, all of which are Oldrim texture compression formats.

Is Improved Water Performance still relevant/useful with the latest (3.0.4 at the time of writing) version of RW2?

No, the update 2.2.2 of RW2 already did the same as this mod

Will this work with RWT and Better Water?

They appear to contain the same textures, so no. If you overwrite Better Water with this then you will get RW2's textures in BC7 format. If you overwrite this with Better Water, you will get whatever format Better Water uses. There's no point in using both.

Does load order matter? Should IWP be loaded before or after water 2?

    Hey Pfuscher!
As of RWT 2.0, the textures are all saved as BC7. Were there any other changes in your mod besides the compression?

Edit: NM, I'm going to remove this because it looks like BC7 was the biggy. If for some reason I need this after looking around and checking performance I'll simply reinstall.

Will I get any FPS gain with a GTX 1080?

Probably an insignificant gain. A 1080 has 8gb vram so you should be perfectly fine without this mod.

a bit confused so the 1st mod is for IWP and the 2nd is for vanilla water, correct?

Ah figured it out the first file is the vanilla :P
