Okay, let's try this a second time.

Pity that it says it is the final version.

I have some ideas that would be great, like making thanes tax exempt as well as those that complete the Main Quest. With everyone going around dancing and singing about the Dragonborn, it seems unlikely they would tax their hero who saved everyone.

So with this mod you pay taxes just for existing?
    ///
Actually this mod is awesome. I set 0 tax for citizens of Windhelm and other Sormcloak holds except Riften which is corrupt and set taxation in Imperial Markath and Solitude because there is reference in the game Nords complain about paying taxes to Empire. Good roleplaying tool.

Can you add 3 features I just came up with for role playing purposes?
1)When you steal something from someone, that someone might send thugs after you to try and kill you. Or the quest where Mogrul keeps sending his thugs after you so that you pay up a debt... So, how about using those very same thugs, and have an event where if you haven't payed your taxes you'll get harrassed by these guys?
2)All the money you pay up for the taxes won't just simply banish; it's send to a treasury of sorts inside the Jarl's keep (or in case of Markarth, the Silver-blood place) and stored there for a fixed amount of time. That way, when someone RP as a Thief, they can simply pay up taxes... and get them back while earning some lockpicking and sneaking xp.
3)A soldier's tax for funeral arrangements. We all know soldiers used to pay taxes so that when they died they had a reasonable burrial... So you could pay up to your faction a monthly/weekly tax (maybe to the Imperial/Stormcloak general or to a courier)
I would love to see those new features implemented.

But it does vanish, the King has expenses to pay, you think that castle cleans and repairs itself? Kings were notorious for being broke and borrowing money that they never repaid.

In real life, before all the money is spent, the money has to be counted, sorted, and stored. Then, it's all spent on whatever it is needed for. During that period of time in which the money is being sorted (say, 2-3 days each month) you could get a chance to sneak into the palaces and take some of that money for yourself.
Also, kings were notorious as well for claiming they were broke so that they could hoard some great sums of golds of themselves. Ever think of that?

Also, with the excepcion of the Jarl of Whiterun, who complains openly about barely having enough money to pay up for his guards and the castle's upkeep, the other holds seem to be doing just fine. SO I doubt theres much of a crisis besides the Civil War and the Dragons roaming around.

Historically, in most cases, Kings, Queens and leaders usually had very little money most of the time. They were always using it up real fast to usually pay for armies (as in a civil war), paying off advisers, barons, etc or for other things whether needed or not. It was very unusual for a King to have a vast horde of gold just sitting there. If there was, it wouldn`t be sitting there very long and would be extremely heavily guarded (the guards and security themselves adding to the costs). Even with all, you`d have a very narrow window to work in and once successful, it would be even harder the 2nd time around. Also getting caught would be insta- execution, not jail. Also you`re thinking of just stuffing 1000s of gold coins in your cloak where in reality you`d be too heavy to carry more than a couple of hundred, if that. So you`d need help or a cart and horse to take it away!

Sure i wouldn`t mind having that in the mod- It would just be very, very hard to pull off.

I'd be up for the challenge tbh lol. Having a really brief window would be great since stealing stuff in this game gets easy after a short while. Though implementing an execution system would be difficult, if not impossible.

It would be nice if the wordage was 1st person as in, "Ok, here`s the money." and , "Nope, can`t afford it. You get nothing!"

It's democracy, you voted against taxes, but all the people who are poorer, 99% of the rest of Skyrim, voted to tax the hell out of you. Soak the rich. They didn't even need your vote because of the overwhelming majority in favor of taking your gold.

What seems stupid to me is someone who takes the time to write out a comment like the one you did. Let me give you a little lesson in etiquette, if you don't like something then don't use it. Uninstall it and thank the author for his/her work...and then move on to something else. How about I tell you that you can't spell and you can't write proper English...I think your stupid!

I've endorsed the mod. I liked the original when I played LE and now this really fits my role-playing at the moment. Thanks for the conversion.
