This mod is a recolor of 36 trade signs in Skyrim in an effort to increase contrast and legibility.

I made this for Skyrim VR, but it’s just a texture re-color and will work with Skyrim SSE.

I created this mod for myself as I was having difficulty seeing trade signs clearly, especially with mod choices that changed lighting and weather. If you are in the same situation, I hope you find this recoloring useful.
The original signs are realistic in that they are badly faded, have noisy flecked paint and exhibit strong weathered grooves in the wood. Unfortunately, the sacrifice for this realism is that the vanilla signs can be hard to discern from a distance.
I want to emphasize that these are the vanilla signs. All I did was recolor the textures to make them easier to view.

After installation, you will see that the trade signs are different. Nothing special needs to be done in-game.

Use a mod manager like Vortex or Mod Organizer 2.
Acquire the mod by clicking the Files tab and clicking on the latest version. Don’t forget to install and enable the mod in your mod software.

Amongst a myriad of other additions, this mod places lanterns near many trade signs. This substantially helps viewing them in inclemental weather or modified darkness levels.
Weathered Road Signs

Other road sign mods are difficult to read because they use an etching effect. This mod uses a bright white paint for the city names that you can easily read at any time of day or weather condition.
