Given that it hasn't been updated in nearly 5 years, I don't think the patch is coming. Feel free to check out Unattuned - Immersive Spell Failure for something in a similar vein.
I saw this mod, & got all excited - great idea! In your description, there's talk of turning enemies invisible, or accidentally giving them buffs. I could understand catching yourself on fire when mishandling a fire spell, your summoned creature attacking you, perhaps making yourself glow or casting a mage light on yourself when trying to go invisible, or getting a reversed calm / frenzy spell that alerts enemies to your position, and the affects all being related, but I guess it's a little unclear to me what might be the trigger to accidentally buffing your enemy or turning them invisible. I have been hoping for a mod like this ever since I begrudgingly moved on to SE, so a big THANK YOU! for sharing this mod with the community. Cotton
Super underrated mod, plays well with Fizzle, Wild Magic Surge, and Just Cast It- Magic Rebound. They all really complement each other, emphasizing what Tolfdir at the College of Winterhold said about the nature of magic. "The first thing to understand is that magic, by its very nature, is volatile and dangerous. Unless you can control it, it can and will destroy you"
I think a large impasse for this mod is the fact that it's incompatible perk overhauls like Ordinator. Most people who will mod their game to this point are also likely to have modded perks, which only some of less popular ignore the perks that this mod relies on. If there was a way to use on those mods I feel this might be a lot more popular.
Haha, my first thought on seeing this was "seems like a really good idea but I'm running Ordinator and Apocalypse and Forgotten Magic..." What this really needs is some sort of zEdit script to generate a patch to apply this to all relevant spells and perks, but that would be a lot of work for a skilled and knowledgeable coder.
I've thought about using Ordinator, but I made my first perk mod, SkyPE, as soon as I started modding so I never did. I don't even know if it was out at that time. I do use Apocalypse and Forgotten Magic and have thought about creating a patch, but unfortunately it will be a little bit due to RL.

I'm not even gonna dignify that with a response. I'm out of here.
