Hi Guys immersive armors give me crashes afther all mods load up at the start and i have no idea why everything else works fine even immersive weapons. but when i install immersive armors it give me crash. i even installed patch for the legacy of the dragonborn and it still crashes any idea why ? this is my load order i did clean all mods with xedit except Reallistic water two where the mod autor say it shoudnt be cleaned.
I'm using the latest versions of both of these mods but I seem to be getting an error when using your patch. It says I need the know_your_enemy_armors.esp but that it's missing. Thing is, I have installed KYE correctly and I do have a know_your_armor_patch.esp, but I have no idea where I could get the one this patch needs.
I started to get a check fail in Vortex today ... not sure what I've changed. It says immersivearmorsknowyourenemyarmorpatch.esp depends on know-your-enemy-armors.esp.
Any ideas what's wrong? EDIT - NVM worked it out - I didn't use the zip patcher version.
First of all thanks for your work, and your efforts in doing this patch! :)
I have 2 nobo questions:
1) I've been using Immensive Armors and KYE together in my gameplay for quite a long time, I am about 120 hours in game, and I've never noticed problems or bugs. What kind of "problems" does this patch cover?
2) Since those 2 mods could be updated in future may I ask you to add in the description page for which patch of those 2 mods (KYE and Immersive Armor) is your mod working?
IA and KYE work together without a Problem, but IA's Armors don't have the keywords. Example: The "Metal" keyword from KYE reduces damage from bladed weapons (swords, daggers) by 50%. So when you wear steel armor or any other armor made of metal, the damage is first reduces by the vanilla armor system and the remaining damage is reduced by 50%. Any armors from IA (e.g. Akaviri Samurai Armor) only get the vanilla damage reduction, because they don't have those keywords. This Patch adds those keywords
It would be nice to know which armor gets which keyword, but hopefully the author will update the mod description.
Vrailful here's got it. They work fine without the patch. If you're like me and the only armor mod you use is immersive armors then this patch simply makes it so that all the armors in your game consistently benefit from Know Your Enemy's armor system. I will update the description at some point. I was just up mega late working on the patch and didn't feel like typing up everything I changed. I work alot the next three days but after that I intend to provide a more detailed description explaining exactly what keywords each armor has.
To answer your second question I currently use the latest version of Immersive Armors and the Know Your Enemy armor plugin. This should work fine. If they're updated in the future I'll be sure to go over my patch again and make sure it carries forward any changes the authors should make to their mods. I suppose for clarity's sake when I update the description I'll list specifically which version of the mods this works with.
How hard is it to make a patch? I was looking to attempt this but I got discouraged since my CK skills are weak. Now since you did it (thank you very much) I figure I might as well try Warmonger.
I actually made this using SSEEdit. It's pretty simple once you know how it works. I personally hate the Creation Kit and have mad respect for the modders who have the patience to deal with that laggy, buggy mess. But I digress, SSEEdit is more than sufficient for making patches in most cases I can think of, you just have to load up the plugins and take a look at the records inside them and get an idea for what they do. You'll see easily if more than one plugin attempts to change the same record (I normally just right click in the program and apply the filter for conflict losers). Then it's as simple as deciding for yourself what changes need to be carried forward into the patch plugin you created so you get the best features of both mods.
I personally normally take the approach of just figuring things out myself by playing around with new programs, but if you're interested there are comprehensive guides on how to use SSEEdit. It's generally referred to as xEdit (where x represents which game you use it for, it works with multiple Bethesda games). Here are some guides to get you started if this is how you like to learn: http://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:XEdit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2F19Do8HAl4&t=53s
After minimal research it seems that esl files cannot use esp files as masters. It's necessary for me to have the Know Your Enemy armor plugin as a master to even be able to use the keywords in the first place, and Immersive Armors obviously has to be a master because I'm making changes to the armors present in that mod.
