The Companions quest "Dragon Seekers" (CR14) could never be offered because it was listed under a story node requiring Skjor to be alive, but he is dead by the time Glory of the Dead is complete. Glory of the Dead being complete is a requirement for this quest option to be offered.
Seems like a simpler way to work that would be to put cr 14 back, remove the glory of the dead requirement,, and move it to c02 complete. And maybe put a level requirement.
I didn't set out to fix any bugs but I did test it with Vilkas in my game and it worked for me so maybe the mod works around that bug. I would say use at your own risk though. The Farkas only option should be safer and seems to be more popular anyway.
I can’t seem to get this mod to work. I’m on 1170 if that matters. No matter what I try I seem to still get the intimidate quests from Farkas. I’ve check in SSEdit and this mod is the last/only one to edit the records it touches. Tested on new saves. Also tried exiting and reloading and still not resolved. Anything else I can check?
Any chance you have At Your Own Pace for companions installed? I do and I'm seeing the same thing - nothing overwriting this plugin but still getting the quest. While I am far from an expert on mods, poking around in xEdit it looks like AYOP is managing everything itself via its own scripts and likely doesn't use the story manager records, which could explain why we still get the quest. I found that making a smol patch that adds a new global to disable the quest and add it as a condition makes it go away.
nope, just dealt with it for a while and then started a new playthrough. I usually have the same issue with small mods that change global variables, but those I can just use console commands to change them midgame, however this quest changes 2 story manager quest nodes, which I don't think I can alter them in console.
I couldn't find anywhere in the USSEP version history and in a quick Google search anything about Vilkas not giving the Dragon Seekers quest. Where does that info come from ? Is this reliable ? Has the bug been fixed since 2018 ?
It's bugged me to think the guild which do anything with hornor are stoop this low to the point bullying someone by paid newbie like Dragonborn to do their favor. Sure,This might be civilians,Not their. But I think companion has rights to reject it.
It is compatible with Improved Companions as far as I can tell. Only thing it does, is remove one quest. Which doesn't interfere with the Improved Companions changes AFAIK judging from within SSEEdit.
'Whelp' is just a word that is referring to a newborn dog. "Puppy" is a more recent word and is technically more of a cutesy, doting way to refer to the animal. It's not necessarily an insult, and particularly not when you know the Companions are werewolves.

Nothing is overwriting this mod, checked it on xEdit.

Edit : Yep, that's definitely fake news. USSEP actually fixes that bug.

Lastly, killing a dragon seems like a tough first starting quest
