downloaded this mod through vortex, opened the folder, moved it to skyrim/data folder and ran it. I had to disable USSEP and dependent mods and it worked fine. Re-enabled ussep etc and it all works.
Have a piece of heavy armor in your inventory and at the forge under MISC there should be an option to create a lightweight version.
Only problem for me now is that the lightweight version can't be enchanted. It doesn't show up in the menu at the arcane enchanter.
When I run the Bat file with Java and click on patch, it says ''The application is having trouble locating: your Plugins txt file.'' Then it says I have to go in and find it myself. I've tried a bunch of them but it never works. Anybody else have this issue?
So I LOVE LOVE LOVE this mod!! Heres how I got it to work:
how to get it to work for any mod (non-othermod dependent, you'll see later) armour MO2 only, no idea about vortex :
1. first follow instructions on mod page: Extract the mod to your data folder Run the file : Data\SkyProc Patchers\LightenHeavyArmor\start.bat Click on "Other settings" in the left panel and choose the percentages your transformed light armor should have click on "Patch" on the top right corner and wait for the generation to finish activate the generated esp file : Lighten heavy armor.esp
2. follow SOME of Shyko5600 great solution in the comments on the mod page: "Figured it out, Download manually, Convert to a winrar/7zip file, extract to your skyrim/Data folder, run the Bat File, SEARCH for ESP and the lightentoheavy.esp will show up in some random directory, take that OUT of the directory its in and drag it into your Skyrim directory where all the other ESPs are", then hit refresh under the View menu in MO2 to get the .esp to populate.
3: Set up Lighten Heavy Armor mod as an executable in MO2, if you dont know how here is a link to GamerPoets get tutorial: (I know its a link to how to install dyndolod but he talks about executables, okay?) https://youtu.be/encZYHEeQrQ?t=193 After set up, run the executable. Now it will probably tell you that some esp if missing a master, heres the not fun part.
4: Save your load order!!! Hit the little button next to where it shows how many esp are active under the plugins tab on the right in MO2
5: Disable ALL esp that have a master other than skyrim, dragonborn, hearthfire, update, or dawnguard. Trust me it will keep popping up that masters are missing until ALL dependents are unchecked. Unfortunately that means any armour that has a dependancy on a mod other than those 5 will not work!!!
6: Run the Lighten Heavy Armor executable, Hit refresh under View in the MO2 menu so the .esp updates with your newly updated .esp, turn all your old .esps back on, using the yellow arrow next to the back up button you used under the plugins tab and you're done! Good luck!
And from the horizon, bluegene001 emerges with the solution of all my problems. One of the most underrated mods of all nexus. It's not difficult to use: install java, install all your mods, run the tool as properly instructed, activate the esp file within the proper load order, simplicity itself. You might say there are easier mods to use, but none solve the problems like this one does. If any of those people who says that this mod is a waste of time tried at least once to mod DBXV2 or TS4, they would know how terrifying modding could be.
EDIT1: And works perfectly in AE. Any problems until now. Just made a light set of armor from the brand-new Sons of Skyrim mod that was recently uploaded. Great work you did, and thanks for uploading your files here.
