Can confirm this mod breaks the lanterns. unless you use VR, the error message isn't a big deal. Untill this is updated to address how it breaks the lantern model, don't use
DON'T DL Breaks the original mod, doesn't remember settings and sometimes not visible. The error message you may be trying to fix (like I was) is harmless, the lantern functions anyway so I advise leave it as is and just dismiss it on loading game.
Using this makes the lantern invisible. Not using this makes the mod config menu fucked up. I'm starting to loose patience with the Special Edition, since Oldrim has NONE of the issues.
TordN your statement is simply not true, at least for the VR version. With this mod disabled, but papyrus util on, the game gets stopped with the lanterns error dialogue trapped behind the any button prompt. Having both this fix and papyrus on, changing the brightness does enable the flame, but the lantern model still doesn't display.
Toggle your Lantern Options from the Shout/Power menu, NOT the MCM menu. The MCM menu may be F'd up, but the Shout/Power menu works fine to set your Lantern options.
So, I installed this mod, and it did make the pop-up go away, but it also made the lanterns not work at all. Not only did the menu go blank (Nothing saved), but also the lantern itself didn't show, nor did the light. (Note: I am using the bug lantern, I did not try any others.)
It worked just fine before installing it, and it worked just fine after installing it. So, I guess I'll continue to live with the pop-up. I'd much rather live the pop-up, then not being able to use the lantern mod at all.
For anyone having issues displaying the oil meter when using this for SE, use Wearable Lanterns MCM Fix but ensure you delete the SKSE DLL in the script extender folder of the mod and instead use PapyrusUtil SE. Chances are that you already have it if you use mods like MCM Recorder, immersive horses, any settings loader mods, campfire, etc.
This patch fixes the error popup, makes MCM work, but removes the configuration/toggle powers. It is also impossible to set a hotkey because upon doing so you cannot get out of the settings menu. Switching to another tab(or saving your game) causes a CTD.
PapyrusUtil SE fixes the popup, but not the MCM. And the "MCM fix" that LOOT suggests breaks SKSE so that it won't load any .dll plugins lol.
WL was one of my favorite mods back in the day but now it's becoming a chore.
