Only message me if you are seeking permission for a translation, are making a video of my mod, etc.
PLEASE read the instructions carefully if you are updating from an older version ... Every time I release a new version people post here that their game is broken or my mod doesn't work. It works just fine, you must follow the steps very carefully and don't skip anything. You should use the Remove Better Vampires.bat file BEFORE installing to make certain that you have no vampire-related loose files in your Skyrim\Data folder. If you do .... they will overwrite my BSA and my mod will not work ...
If using a mod organizer/loader make certain no other mods are loading loose files that affect vampires - especially PlayerVampireQuestScript! A loose file will overwrite my .bsa and it will break things!
If using RS Children Overhaul don't install the RSC Vampire Script Patch in the FOMOD installer, it is incompatible to Better Vampires.
If you are a custom race (they can cause many issues) and are using Race Compatibility. You will have to talk to TMPhoenix. You have to follow his instructions perfectly or it breaks my mod. They are complex and if you made a mistake you will have to seek his help. His mod works fine, but custom races inherently add more problems. Many issues have resulted from his mod (and people not setting it up properly) and I tire of defending my mod when it works fine. If you have an issue, it is 95% mod conflict or user error.

A new save is recommended, OR follow these steps to blank the mod and make a "clean save" and update.

1) Rest/wait INSIDE for 24hr in the game - this will allow any NPCs you have fed upon, or used Seduction on, time to recuperate. 2) Use my MCM - Troubleshooting and Cleanup page (or my customization power) and click on "BLANK Better Vampires Mod". 3) If using my MCM, exit it to have the mod blanked. 4) Wait until told the blanking is complete, then save your game (it must be a real save, not a quick save). 5) Exit the game. 6) Uninstall and delete the old version of my mod (completely DELETE it from the Skyrim\Data and Skyrim\Data\Scripts folders). I use MO to remove mods, but you can check the files section and use my "Remove Better Vampires" batch file - it will ENSURE everything is gone. 7) Download and install my latest mod version using NMM, MO, or Bethesda.net (for PC or XBox One). 8) Start the game and load your saved game from step 4. 9) Use my MCM - Troubleshooting and Cleanup page (or my customization power) and click on "Reset Sanguinare Vampiris". 10) Customize my mod with the MCM, customization power, or console commands. 11) You were infected in step 9, now you must wait 3 days for your disease to run its course and you will become a stage 1 Vampire (fully fed). * You must feed once on a living victim to have your proper rank set the first time. OPTIONAL STEPS 12) Make a new save after you turn into a vampire the first time (it must be a real save, not a quick save). 13) Exit the game. 14) Use the Script Cleaner (or Skyrim Tools for SE) on the save from step 12 (to ensure the cleanest slate possible). 15) Start the game and load your cleaned saved game from step 14.

Can anyone give me a list of the ids for the special feeding victim perks? I don't have the game on PC but I do have a mod for xbox that adds some commands and I want to try giving my self the perks but can't find them anywhere.
Finally got this mod to work well in my huge LO, but now for some reason turning into vampire increases my attack speed to ridiculous levels, and using the mod settings to fix it just makes my character attack ridiculously slow. Anybody know a better fix for this? I have no idea what other mod is even conflicting with my attack speed to cause this issue.
I'm getting crashes when I try to feed sometimes. But for example right now I'm trying to feed on someone while theyre seduced so no fighting or anything and screen just goes black and freezes. Normally after restarting game it works but this particular feeding is not working at all. Anyone have a fix? Edit: Eventually it did work. still curious as to whats causing it in the first place though.
Is there something you could point me to in SSEEdit that would allow me to turn down the frequency of the vampire hunters? I like the addition, but I feel like it's even more annoying than dragons, and dragons are pretty annoying.
It seemed to be mostly working since the last update for Skyrim at first, but I've been having some issues with turning into a vampire breaking some mod animations, like idles and whatnot. Also, I installed MCM Kicker, and the MCM menu for Better Vampires has vanished, but not the menu for Better Vampire Lords.
BV says I am using a custom race when inventory is removed as part of a quest, despite not using a custom race. Breaks Vampirism abilities.
Hi, I am having an issue where when all (or even just part) of my inventory is confiscated as part of a quest (E.g. Sheogorath quest or the Cidhna Mine quest) or even just when surrendering stolen goods to guards to pay of my bounty, Better Vampires decides that I am using a custom race. I do not have any custom race mods installed and I just play as an Altmer vampire. I do use both Better Vampires and Sacrosanct (with the compatibility patch).
When I get this bug I lose most of my BV perks, including my increased speed, jump height, weapon speed, etc. I am however still able to feed. Trying to reset my vampirism (either normally through vanilla means or through the BV menu) does not work. Regaining my inventory (that for some reason caused this bug) does not revert my race back to normal. The only thing that fixes it is going back to a previous save before the bug happened. I have tried to see if its a specific item from my inventory that is causing the issue, but on doing tests where I go through my inventory removing item by item to see what causes the bug, the item seems to change each time. I think it is just an issue caused by a mass dumping/removal of inventory by the game. I have not had the issue when I simply de-loot to sell stuff or upgrade/change gear etc.
This has made me put lots of quests on hold, especially important ones like the main quest. I really love this mod and have become accustomed to playing with the perks I get with it, but am unsure how to fix this. I can't find anyone else online with the same issue. Can anyone help? I can give my load order if needed. Thank you!
Missing Effects Bug - Spoilers for Special Feeding Victims!!!
Missing "Special Feeding Victim" effects. For example, in the screenshot below I have 6 unlocked but there are only 5 active effects. This one at least has 5. Usually there's only 2-3 (random) and others are missing. It will also notify me that there's a powerful victim nearby despite having the blood (entering DB's hideout for example below; Sometimes twice since Astrid's effect is missing too). As far as I can tell through MO2, nothing is overwriting this mod.
Got a strange issue, after i was hugged by serana, i can normally feed on others in human form, but if i transformed into a vampirelord then shift back, i can no longer feed on others, the options even won't come up, and my character's face will become some sort of "sunken" if you know what i mean. by the way, i'm currently using this mod with cosmetic vampire overhaul.
