OK I've ported my patch from LE. I haven't done much testing, and I haven't used Ashes in SSE, so no guarantees that things will behave exactly the same as in LE. (I don't even know if Ashes SE 0.01 is identical to Ashes LE 0.02, which the patch was made for)
Just an FYI for everyone, I ported this to SE myself and it works great with the SE version of Ashes. No problems so far and all of the bugs inherent in Ashes seem to be fixed. Kudos to OP!
It's not the same, but anyone is free to upload a converted LE version to SSE.
IIRC the SSE version is missing the werewolf fix, so there might be issues there.
Sorry guys, I've just been not doing well IRL and so I kinda just make mods when I have time and desire and don't really feel like revisiting old stuff just to support them.
hazardass, I don't know if you still track this thread. Anyway, I've installed Ashes + your patch (fresh install). And while the respawn thing works fine, I've got another problem that drives me crazy since I've installed the mod. When I did I was in a cave. And now - for whatever reason - whenever I exit that cave (through the door) I instantly die and respawn inside (near a bed where it has created a respawn point).
The next try I saved the game right before the exit and reloaded that save. Now when I exited the door the game crashed. According to the crash log I'm somehow trapped in a scripted "TESTrapHitEvent" that always triggers when leaving the door. It seems that the mod's script has a problem with the recognition of the related cells. The only way to fix was to remove the mod and load an older save. well, I could have reset the mod and go on, but to be honest I don't want to mess up my game just because the same thing happens later. And there are no conflicts with other mods, records or scripts. I've tripple checked that.
But I remember one thing that "might" have something to do with it: Shortly before existing that door the first time, I've triggered a trap, but was able to excape it before it hit me. Weird.. So maybe I just hit some kind of off vanilla bug - or the combo of tht and something with this mod tracking death events.
Hey, I have some issues with the mod playing in VR. No matter how I1m setting it up, sleeping always overwrite my saved location for respawning. I tried all the settings but always the same, no matter how much I sleep, it's overwritten. I tried different MCM settings too. Is there any way to disable the sleeping location save by deleting something from the mod? Any tips? Thanks
Weird, I wanted to get this patch to see if it would fix vigor bleeding killing me once I respawned but this ended up introducing more bugs than it solved. For instance I got the endless death sound looping bug when I didn't used to get it before.
Hey, I installed the mod and it didn't work at all, whenever my character would reach 0 hp they would just not trigger the death animation at all. I tried to disable it through MCM but know my character would trigger the deathcam but would not ragdoll or actually die at all, they would just stand still in a sort of kneeling down animation. I tried uninstalling it but this glitch still persisted. I tested on a new save and it's working fine with the mod uninstalled. Can anyone help me fix this without creating a new save? I really don't want to lose my save because of this and I'm not creating a bug report since (looking at the bugs section) it really seems like the mod author has abandoned this project. Please let me know if you know how to fix this, thanks!
i was looking for a mod to turn my opponent into ashes. im using requiem. they changed the destruction skill tree, as i recall if you used some lightning spell in vanilla it would turn your opponent into an ash on death.
i read the description of this mod, it did not say anything about turning opponent into ashes (Perma Deathing them). maybe someone who reads this can clarify this for me and lead me in the right direction.
I'm running Ashes with Skyrim VR and out of the box it ran great. Then I installed the Dark Souls-like death addon, Ashes stopped working. (I did the console commands, activated the spell in the cell, still I die i reload my last save). Then I uninstalled the dark souls death addon, I get the "wake up" message but I still reload my last save automatically.
I tried uninstalling and re-installing, no luck.
Then I tried a previous save, it worked, but in the process I screwed up my autosave slots, so I lost my save where the Dark souls addon wasnt installed. Now i'm stuck with this broken savegame that won't run Ashes properly. When I uninstall the mod, the "Ashes" menu still apears in MCM, however it's empty.
I tried opening my save file with FallrimTools (ReSaver) but I can't find what to remove.
Any help is appreciated!
UPDATE: I found Ashes in the plugins section of ReSaver and purged it from the save file. Loaded the save, works like AShes is brand new, 100% functionality! so I try to install the dark souls addon again, i reload the clean save with both mods on. In MCM. when i go to enable Ashes, "Dark souls respawn" option is greyed out. I exit and re-enter MCM, it's available now. I activate it, but now whenever I die I just instantly respawn in place. When I try to use the spawn point spell, it tells me that all the spawn slots have been used up. Very confusing.
Anyway, I'll play vanilla Ashes for now and keep my gold in barrels haha.

Is it possible to add a new outcome - getting blamed for a crime upon death? Configurable chance and bounty of course. Might be a neat way for law-abiding characters to have interaction with crime systems and crime-related mods.
So I've been playing with this for a while, and I absolutely love it. No bugs for me. I was wondering though- does anyone know how to go about making it such that advanced injuries could be healed by priests/priestesses, much like they do with diseases? Can it be done through xedit, or does it involve scripting? Thanks.
