I was wondering if this mod would work with sounds replacers?

Hmm. I have a question for anyone with more tech experienced than me lol.

I used to use this mod and it was a serious part of my load order. I haven't used it for quite a while. I got a Razer headset and keyboard for my laptop, which came with lots of things I didn't really want or need (Don't get me wrong, Razer is good...but why did my headset and keyboard come with so many "extra options"??...I just wanted a simple headset and keyboard lol!). Long story short: My Razer stuff came with "Razer THX Spatial Audio" - which appears to do the same thing this mod does? I'm not sure if there's a difference tbh. I haven't used this mod in so long I can't compare, unfortunately - but I remember this mod blowing my mind when I had it! I haven't had that experience with Razer THX Spatial Audio...but it could just be because my mind was already previously blown? ALSO...could this mod and Razer THX Spatial Audio work together or should I just stick with one or the other? I can still "hear" creatures such as wolves...but idk if it's quite the same as it was with this mod?

This is what I'm talking about: https://www.windowscentral.com/razer-thx-spatial-audio-review

Does anyone have any input on this lol?

Razer THX Spatial Audio is just virtual surround sound, and not very good from what I've heard. Virtual surround just downmixes the 7.1 stream into an HRTF filter for headphones. This mod (X3DAudio HRTF) uses the actual XYZ co-ordinates from the sound emitters in the game world to calculate its HRTF filter, which makes for much more accurate localization in a 360 field.

I wouldn't use this mirror, as it's severely outdated. The author made a new patch, though he went missing and deleted his GitHub. You'll have to use one of the forks.

Awesome, gotcha! That all makes perfect sense!! I'm good with computers for the most part, but I should really learn more when it comes to more technical things like audio. Yeah - I thought I noticed a difference but didn't want to compare just from memory lol. Sounds like I did remember right, though - with this mod I knew EXACTLY where the sound was coming from and could just turn around / go straight to it. I can kind of do that with Razer THX SA as well, but I can definitely say from experiencing both - this mod does a way better job!

I'll definitely try out one of those releases when I get home today. :) Thank you so much for your response!!

just to be clear...:  I install that github zip as a mod?  Then do I still need THIS mod?  Or just that?

Does anyone know how to resolve this bug?
The sound cuts out, I save, load, and then everything goes silent. Just closing the game and restarting the sound will work again. The place where this happens most is in Dwemer ruins

THIS MOD IS OBSOLETE; DO NOT USE.

The core HRTF pieces are out of date.

    You want https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/26916 instead.

Thank you very much for your referral! I was in Alftand Glacial Ruins and the sound started getting really static and distorted. I thought my sound driver had failed until I realized this mod might be out of date. Then I saw your comment. You're the best!

Im having an issue with npcs or other combative creatures sounding way too close, i think especally in hostile situations. also walls and such doesnt really stop any sound which really makes it hard to know where the sounds are coming from. does anyone have any ide what my problem might be? im playing skyrim vr on an oculus quest 2.

This mod caused me to CTD whenever I tried starting a new game, I've only just noticed that it hasn't been updated in 6 years so that'll be why.

Anyone else got this buzzing noise with this mod whenever there are wind or blizzard sound effects playing?
