About this mod

Port of Oldrim mod by vagonumero12. After you slay her previous champion, the Lord of Plots and Goddess of Destruction gives you a new mission. One that could have a big impact on the future of Skyrim...

This is a port of vagonumero12's mod for Oldrim. All credit goes to him. He gave permission for a port on the Oldrim file page. The following description is copy pasted but with minor edits to reflect the port(e.g, states it requires USSEP instead of USLEEP now, etc. and a couple notes). Please endorse the original mod if you like it: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/65929

This mod restores the Boethiah's Bidding quest that was already partially implemented by Bethesda in the game files. The quest is fully voiced in the language of your Skyrim installation.

How to start the quest:

- Start a new game. This mod requires a new save file to work properly. Even installing on a level 1 save file may make part of the quest not work properly.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE INSTALL THIS MOD ON A LEVEL 30 OR GREATER CHARACTER, BECAUSE THE QUEST MAY BEHAVE TOTALLY WRONG.

- Proceed with your game normally until level 30. At that level, Boethiah's Calling has already started on the background. Usually a Boethiah Cultist with a "Boethiah's Proving" book will chase you. If it takes too much time, just find a copy of the book and read it.

- Complete "Boethiah's Calling" as usual. This time, at the end of the quest, the dialogue of Boethiah will be different: Boethiah's Bidding will start.

Requirements:

- Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch

Conflict with other mods:

- Incompatibility found with mod "The Choice is Yours". The incompatibility is critical and there is no workaround for it at the moment.

- Mods that alter Boethiah's Calling in anyway are likely to be incompatible.

- There are multiple incompatibilities with the mod Civil War Overhaul. Uploader Note: The original Oldrim version has a patch for CWO, but I've been unable to find CWO for SSE and I don't have the time to update the patch to reflect any changes in CWO, so the mods are incompatible unless someone else updates the patch.

Bug report:

When reporting a bug, issue or effect of this quest on others, it would help to know on which side of Civil War your character is (or if none at all), and the state of main quest. DON'T REPORT BUGS IF YOU DIDN'T INSTALL THE MOD ON A NEW SAVE OR IF YOU USED CONSOLE COMMANDS TO ADVANCE THE QUEST.

External credits:

Uploader Edit: And credit to vagonumero12 obviously.
- Bethesda: this quest is theirs, including the biggest part of the implementation.
- USKP Team: in order to keep their fixes, two of the vanilla scripts this mod needs to change were based on the modified version of USKP, instead of the original Bethesda versions. In concrete, these files are DA02Script and QF_DA02_0004d8d6.

FAQ. Warning: the faq section contains spoilers about the outcome of the quest.

Q: Will something happen to the Civil War? And the final scene in Battle for Solitude?
A: No. The problems with Civil War were fixed in version 0.2. In the final scene, Erikur will replace Elisif, Bethesda already added dialogue for him and for the actors mentioning him.
The only other difference in Civil War, known so far, is that -if Elisif is dead - Tullius will mention Erikur instead of Elisif, when talking with Rikke about the jagged crown.

Q: And the peace council?
A: Unfortunaly, there wasn't replace material for Erikur in the peace council. So that seat will be just empty. In version 1.0, conditions have been added so that Elisif won't be mentioned there anymore if she is dead. Scene flags have also been reworked so that the death of Elisif doesn't cause some scenes not to play, which could break main quest in prior versions.

Q: Will quest "Tending the flames" break?
A: No, this quest doesn't break. But if Elisif is dead, Viarmo will still mention her. Viarmo will go to blue palace, but the scene won't happen and the quest will auto-advance, and can be completed normally. Unfortunally, there wasn't replacement material for Eriku on this quest.

Q: Potema quest will break?
A: No.

Q: Which quests can break?
A: If Elisif dies, the miscelaneous quests "Elisif's Tribute" and "Fit for a Jarl" will break. This is not different than when a non essential character gets killed and their minor quests get broken.

Q: I have completed the quest, but there is no way to go the Blue Palace without the guards attacking me.
A: Depending of how you completed the quest, this is intended. You will have to find a way to talk with the new jarl to fix it. But as the new jarl is always in the blue palace, I suggest to sneak into his room (previous Elisif room) when he is sleeping.
