This is really cool! I think it would work really well with Frostfall, to have extra exposure resistance for the extra padding. That's long been my biggest issue with that mod, you can't just put on more layers under your armor to stay warmer.
I like that it's configurable, because then I can make sure it causes just the right amount of extra difficulty. It's a little fiddly with SSE, it works fine, but it's a little wonky in some places.
I assume you mean vanilla textures. I Can assure you i spent quite a bit of time making this in creation kit, even made custom enchants. Non of these are craftable in the vanilla game. Just a novice modder sharing something.
