I really like these! Is there any chance that you will do more of the housecarls someday? Other mods tend to change them too drastically.

Thanks! I'm glad you like them. I haven't played Skryim on PC (switched to Xbox One) or made mods for years, but there's always a chance I will return to it in the future and add more sexy gentlemen to this mod. :)

In order to avoid the black face bug just overwrite all of the npc textures with this mod at the bottom of the list

Yes, the only way you would get a dark face bug with this is if you have a conflict, as this mod uses only vanilla textures. Make sure that it is loaded below any mods that overwrite the same NPCs, and make sure that any texture, body, etc., mods are loaded below it, as this mod will use whatever texture or body mods you use.

I'm having this problem with the black face and am not quite understanding how to fix it.

Do you have any other mods that alter any of these characters in any way? Have you tried putting it at the bottom of your load order? My mod uses only vanilla assets and has been saved with the proper facegen data, so there should be no black face bug unless another mod is conflicting with it.

!!! ?? I haven't tried the mod out yet and this isn't exactly an issue but .. Thats .. Faendal doesn't look like that in vanilla???

edit; Nevermind, i didnt understand. I thought it meant vanilla completely, not vanilla as in no texture mod. Thats a drastic change though(between vanilla no mods and the no texture mods vanilla) !!

I felt Faendal needed an overhaul to make him look younger. As he was in pure vanilla, he looked really old, and I wanted to make him younger so he stood more of a chance with Camilla. :)

Is it possible to change 1-2 hairstyles in the CK, effectively overwriting the changes made with your mod? I tried it in various ways (overwriting the files in this mod directly) but always get a brown face. Same happens if I do it for NPCs un-affected by this mod. This might be a bit unorthodox (asking here, directly) but could you tell me how to give NPCs custom hair? I know my way around CK and SSEdit, but none of the tutorials online have worked.

Edit: Nevermind, I did it. Sorry for cluttering the page with my post. Thank you for the mod. I wanted to marry Aicantar since meeting him in my game for the first time!
(Small addition - using the Mod "Marriage Voice Types Plus" available on the Bethesda website adds marriage dialogue for certain voice types, making Ondolemar a possible spouse. For anyone who cares. You can use it together with this mod, it changes different records)

I can’t get Ondolemar to be a follower and I have RDO installed and the AFT patch. Is the patch the issue? There’s no follower dialogue and I’ve done his little Markarth quest

I’ve now disabled and deleted AFT and the RDO AFT patch and it still doesn’t work

I don't use AFT, so I can't say if that's the problem, but it shouldn't be. It's likely a mod conflict. Do you have any other mods that alter Ondolemar in any way? Also, make sure that RDO is low in your LO, definitely below my mod.

The only mod that might interfere is I have Interesting NPCs? and a Thalmor overhaul mod for outfits and such?

I don't use either mod, so I can't say for sure. Have you put my mod at the bottom of your load order (with only RDO below it)? You might also check for a conflict with SSEEdit. Other than a conflict, there's no reason it shouldn't work. I used the mod myself recently, and he followed without issue.

Has the mod work without the RDO? why is this mod needing this? I just wanted to change the appearance of the followers and nothing more. What a boring thing. I'm Brazilian so I don't want to download a mod that adds extra dialogs.

If you read the bold note at the top of the description for my mod, "Note: Relationship Dialogue Overhaul (RDO) by Cloudedtruth is required ONLY IF you want to use Ondolemar as a follower, as his voice type doesn't have follower options naturally. If you only want the appearance changes for him, the mod isn't required."

So you only need RDO if you want to use Ondolemar as a follower; otherwise, it's not needed. Please read the description next time.

Thank you for the vanilla makeovers!

I loved Hunky Farkas and Sexy Vilkas to clean the boys up but hated the hair mod which was so huge and un-immersive. Downloaded and endorsed!

So... when I get him to follow me... his retinue follows too, lol. He seems pretty chill, but I test to steal something and then test hit them... he doesn't care if I steal, while they just keep adding to my bounty and saying things like 'we saw that' etc; I can hit them once and they forgive, but hit them several times and he leaves my service. I am not sure how to be rid of them?

I have AIO and I did get the black face bug, but I just load SSG under/after ethereal elven overhaul because I figured that was the prob, and it went away. I'm gonna see about load order for AIO and SSG and see if the other two elves stop follow him. If not... well, not sure what it is. RIP follower Ondolemar you beautiful mer.
**edit when I did that (put aio after ssg) it just made face black again and also didn't have the follow option so... eh.
But he looks very nice. :) I will just continue admire from afar. I still have to go check out (lol) the others. I went straight to Ondolemar because I been wanting a follower mod for him.

It sounds like some sort of conflict because his guards usually don't follow him. I used him myself last night without that happening. See if there's anything else in your load order that might be conflicting with him. You might try moving SSG to the bottom of your LO to see if the problem goes away. Let me know.

I kept lowering it in load order/testing by some mods, start new game each time. It was maybe mid-ish order before; I put all the towns above it, then all other followers, houses, etc.
I loaded it as low as only these are below it-relationship dialogue overhaul and couple rdo patches, serana dialogue edit, ordinator and its patch, alternate start and its patches, realistic water 2 and its patches, and the paarthurnax dilemma; and still they are following him. So any other AI type mod really to influence Ondolemar's shadows or any NPC texture mod, they are above it.
*edit loaded it after alternate start and started new game; they still followed him. I do have rdo still load after ssg though cause thats' how it works?(or does that not matter, so long as rdo is somewhere in load order, but woo gonna test that too).
*edit 2 did loaded SSG *after* rdo; it was the same thing... so I just end up disabling the two thalmor soldiers :p and took Ondolemar outside. He killed the forsworn near the mine within seconds; and then four stormcloaks came strolling up and I hit one twice (just a scratch), and then the four of them were dead by his magic, also within literally five seconds. :D
I have no idea what would be conflicting... if it doesn't hurt my game I will just disable the soldiers from now on maybe and pretend they just uh... relocated.

Hmm. That is really strange. Like I said, I used him the other night without issue. Well, if "relocating" his guards works for you, it shouldn't cause a problem, as I don't think the guards really have a role in the game. Just make sure that you dismiss Ondolemar before you get "Diplomatic Immunity" in your quest log because he could show up as a party guest. And if he does, don't ask him to be a distraction. He won't like it. :)

The name alone is worth a download, but these are great improvements to all of these...umm....sexy gentlemen.

By the way, if you're using AI Overhaul, you'll need to patch this mod. It's not hard to do if you follow this guide:

    https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/articles/1034

It turns out you will also need to patch this mod using the above method if you use Dark Brotherhood for Good Guys. That mod adds a letter to Ondolemar's inventory about certain background motivations for the Dark Brotherhood questline. Again, not hard to do at all. And I guess you can even pretend Ondolemar is a Thalmor double agent helping you---make him your follower and just take the letter from him.

this is perfect because my high elf girl was lacking marriage options. she could have gone for a dark elf of course but...she didn't wanna settle for anything less than a high elf, the best race in all of tamriel ;)

edit: apparently this mod (or just a combination of this mod with other mods) caused my game to crash every time i tried entering darklight tower... when i disabled this mod and this mod only it was all working again. i also had faendal as a follower at the time

It's impossible for it to have been my mod, as my mod uses only vanilla assets. It's likely a game bug or something in the area, and Darklight Tower is notorious for crashing. You could always dismiss your follower before entering also, as Illia goes with you through the tower.
