Where is this dragon???? I can't remember the location of this specific dragon.
Also... can you give us 8K res. version? Or should I make it myself? (Such large scale meshes - dragons - needs 8K res)...

    EDIT:
    ---------
Ah... it's using the "dragonblack" texture, yeh? I already have 8K black dragon res. Thxs, anyways...

Its the Dragonborn DLC dragon, in the main quest.

If it's from SRTO, that texture looks like garbage compared to this one, regardless of the resolution.

I'm making my own texture, dear fella. And I'm publishing textures.
SOME of my own textures (like ALL races overhaul I have done for myself or the dragons in 8K) are for me - and for me only (and for 1-2 good friends here).

You're wasting your time. The human eye cannot accurately perceive anything greater than 4K, so there's no point in going higher.

Credited scientists have studied that the human eye can precieve a resolution with up to 296 to 300 ppi (pixels per inch)
To give you an idea of what we can buy today:
Commercial 4k screens with a 3840 x 2160 resolution (tv or monitor) start at 21.6 inches, which have 112.97 PPi, while a 110" inch 4k screen has 40.05 PPI
There aren't many 8k screens (7680 x 4320 resolution) available commercially, so I'm going off the smallest and biggest that i could find available for sale on the internet, the smallest being a 32 Inch computer monitor, which has 275.36 PPI, and the largest known 8k screen has only 60.77 ppi.
So 8k comes CLOSE at 32 inches, but doesn;t even quite get there, and 8k monitors aren't even ready for commercial use yet generally speaking, due to the lack of 8k content or compatability.

Not trying to offend you by saying this, but if you've seen an 8K monitor/tv, next to a 4k monitor/tv, then you would change your mind. It's similar to the "the human eye cant perceive anything higher than 60fps" argument. Get a montior/tv with 144/244hz capability (preferably with freesync, or even better Gsync) , and you'll change your mind.
I'm using a 1440p 144hz montior, and i downloaded 8k Mountains (credit to and Uploaded by MystiriousDawn) and even on a 1440p resolution i can definitely tell the difference between 1440p, 4k, and 8k resolution mods. anyone claiming not to be able to see an improved resolution is well, quite frankly lying, or just incorrect due to having bad vision, or having hardware that can't handle the high resolutions.
I could even change your mind right now. Download 8k Mountains (but also download this mod :D support for my man opusGlass) , and see for yourself compared to any 4k mod.

....And yes, I work in this department. It's required for me to know these things.

I was trying to avoid joining this conversation but I'll point out one thing -- texture resolution has little to do with monitor resolution. And whether or not you can see the details depends on how large the model is in-game and how close you get to it. There is no hard-and-fast rule for texture size.

By Akatosh, THANK YOU ! I've always found the serpentine dragons so ugly
It's really good to also have made an armored version ! I wanted to choose this one first, but after careful consideration, I might opt for the smooth one. They both look great, and your smooth version is already a huge improvement

Is there a mod that adds the serpentine dragons to the mainland? Cause it would be dope to randomly run into one anywhere like ya do with the vanilla ones. Btw awesome work, thank you

I know there are mods for that on oldrim. Although I think they are dragons that were corrupted by Apocrypha after being bent by Miraak, so to me it makes sense that they're on Solstheim.

Could u give a site for this info? I like the Serpentine Dragon and want more facts about them. Also just realized they look like the Fell Beasts from LOTR.

    Downloaded!

I have also decided to create my own texture, but I am running into the same problem with the teeth. How did you fix the issue with the texture maps?

      Blender with niftools plugin
Also feel free to use the fixed mesh in your own mod. Credit is not even necessary for something that small honestly (though it'd be nice)

Very nice, I hope this affects the one in the load screen, as I see that far more often than the actual dragon.

I haven't seen the loadscreen one, but I expect it will correctly replace the textures, but the UV fix on the teeth will not occur.

Hello Mr. opusGlass, as someone who enjoys the variety to the vanilla dragons added by Splendor, I love the brand new textures and meshes created for the Serpentine Dragons, and I was wondering now with the 2 different variations of the Serpentine Dragon's textures if you have any plans on maybe also updating, or rather I guess making an option/add-on/patch to Splendor (since I saw that Splendor only uses Vanilla textures to be compatible with all mods) or this mod to "Splendorify" the Serpentine Dragons to match up with all of the the other "procedurally" generated vanilla dragons and the new fire/frost naming/strength conventions, possibly with both of the new texture variants as well for 4 different variations of the vanilla Serpentine Dragon to include in the Splendor leveled lists to replace the vanilla Serpentine Dragons, maybe even further differentiate the 2 texture variations as well in the names, although I would guess that "Scaled/Armored Serpentine Fire/Frost Dragon" probably seems a bit too wordy

Everything you ask for will be in the next major update of Diverse Dragons Collection :) Splendor only uses vanilla assets but DDC will now be splendorified.

(Not the very next update though, just the next major one.)

Cool, will there be an option to just have the "Updated Splendor" with the new assets without some of the other things DDC adds like the new dragons? Not to undermine the great work that you have done with the mod, I just personally look more for the "Vanilla Enhanced" feeling in my modded Skyrim over a bunch of new/added content/mechanics and I really enjoy the added variety to the Vanilla dragons that Splendor adds
