Its been reported that this no longer works since AE came out.
I have not touched Skyrim in many years at this point and probably wont ever have the time to fix it, but its probably an easy fix for someone who is up to date with the changes that were made. This was a pretty simple mod so I don't think there was much that could of gone wrong with it.
If anyone feels so inclined as to fix it feel free and then you can either send it to me and I'll publish it on this page or you can publish it on your own and just link back to the original page. Either way drop me a message and I'll update this page.
I am having the same result as this. Shame. looking at this mod in tesvedit I dont see anything to adjust to make it work better from my knowledge either. Eff is seemingly the best options ill ever get for followers :/
I just did a quick test with a horse, using both types of Whistle powers. No effect. (v.1.6x SE free Anniv. Edition/patch)
I agree the concept is the best. Simple.
EDIT: Convenient Horses is an awesome mod for the horses at least (the whistle is only to call to you, but you can tell [dialog] your horse to wait; has a container/saddle bag, etc.).
I like the idea but I also like the idea of this being a Shout using the Shout animations, sound whatnot. I mean if this guy can scare a dragon like Alduin plain s**tless with a mere shout you figure he should be able to whistle across the provinces with no problem.
Love this! I only thing I would like to see is way to whistle that will open up the follower's inventory without having to hail them and then click through their menu options.
So... I get the sound of whistling but there has been no other effect. My follower just isn't responding to it and looking down while whistling doesn't bring up the command thing

Whistle shows up but does nothing, even for default followers like Lydia.

One question, could you make version where the commands...
- Whistle with weapons drawn to set follower to Aggressive
- Whistle with weapons sheathed to set follower to Passive.
...is removed?
