I downloaded the Alternative file; followed the instruction to the letter. Requires Cobb Controlmap Fix to even run SSE without CTD with controller plugged in. Menu doesn't show up in MCM however despite the ControlMap.txt file registering the changes. Bindings aren't registered.
Before anything else, I am unsure if the latest Skyrim update broke my mod, it shouldn't have but I dont know yet. 1.You do not require anything to run my mod. As for Cobb's mod, it conflicts with mine because they replace the same file. 2. There is NO MCM. None. 3. Bindings that are made for other mods must be done within their MCM. Again this mod provide NO MCM. It only frees up buttons for said bindings.
I loved and used this mod but since I updated to 1170 version i crashed when I plugged my controller. To fix this, many people said and recommended "Cobb Controlmap Fix" mod for that. It actually fixes the issue but now im missing your key mappings. Is there any way to update or merge two mods?
Hello, I really liked your mod and it seems to be working even after the catastrophic update to version 1.6.1130, congratulations! I don't know if it should work that way but before your mod my game didn't recognize the control and now it does, but I can't configure some buttons R1 and R2 seem to be the same button and just like L1 and L2, R3 and L3 aren't even recognized but I'm going to investigate this because it seems to be an issue with my own computer, it recognizes these buttons but they don't interact well, it opens Steam automatically. I'll look for how to configure this.
I've been using this mod since 2019 to remove some of the hard-coded controls, alongside my DS4Windows configuration so thank for you all the hard work you've done.
However while it does work perfectly, I've had an issue that's become more of a problem for me (since my USB wire is a little faulty for my PS4 controller).
Anytime my PS4 controller gets disconnected and reconnected during gameplay the game removes all features of this mod and reverts back to the normal vanilla controls (such as L1+Start no longer bringing up tween menu, Touchpad bringing up Favorites menu, etc).
Only way to fix this is by restarting the game and hoping the controller doesn't disconnect, any way to stop this issue from happening? Besides getting another USB cable, of course.
Edit: Nevermind! Turns out it was my Steam controller layout that was overriding this mod whenever I disconnected/reconnected the controller. Thanks again for the wonderful mod.
Hi! I have a ps4 controller and installed the revised version however i cant bring up the tween menu even when i press the start button? How this mod is configured for a ps4 controller?
Thank you! A little thing occurs when i close the menu, after equipping my character, it freezes ( i have to jump to fix it) or dodge ( im using the dodge mco mod). Do you know how to fix that?
Odd bug, it sounds like it may either be a script delay or animation staging queue delay. But I can tell you it is not cause by my mod as it has no scripts at all.
If anyone could help a stupid person who doesn't know how s#*! works, that'd be appreciated. How do I actually ASSIGN stuff. Like, I opened it up and it says $X-Button for example, which I can press and assign to X, same with the other unassigned ones, but it doesn't actually do anything. It connects it to X but it doesn't tell X what to do, if that makes sense. I know it says to use the keyboard to assign but I'm not really sure what that entails. How do I customize the buttons to make them do certain things? I'll keep reading through. Sure I'm missing something. Wanna parry so bad lol ETA: Ho boy. Tried disabling and even uninstalling. Will I have to reinstall Skyrim? ETA: That didn't work dear god. Moral of the story, children: don't install mods if you don't know what the f*#@ you're doing.
Hold on man, don't freak out just yet. My mod won't break your game on its own. Do the following real quick to uninstall it correctly.
First, uninstall my mod using your mod manager. Always us mod managers if possible. Second, once you uninstall go into your Skyrim directory folder, should be under steam/common/apps/etc. Now, inside that folder you will have a file named custom_controllermap.txt. Delete it. This is normally created by your game when you try to edit this mod or you try to add your own customs keys without knowing. This is most likely the cause of your ctds.
Now, onto the actual functioning of this mod. This is a simple map button edit. Once you install this mod, preferably using your mod manager, you need to go into your mcm [Mod configuration menu] and simply assign whatever function you are wanting onto an empty button [example X or B] and that is literally all. Now that key should activate what every action you assigned to it.
You can find most of these solutions under the description tab of this mod.

Here is a mod by Ershin for the animation bug. Animation Queue Fix at Skyrim Special Edition Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com)
As for the scripts, maybe try to download and install Vanilla Script (micro)Optimizations at Skyrim Special Edition Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com) and Optimised Scripts for XPMSSE at Skyrim Special Edition Nexus - Mods and Community (nexusmods.com). Make sure to read their description. Then run Nemisis again.
