Don't forget to use the Papyrus Utils SSE version compatible with your version of SKSE & Skyrim binaries. Papyrus Utils should always install at last and overwrite your mods.
Hey, so uhm. When I add this mod, and I go to my inventory, my game crashes to desktop. It MIGHT be that I did not actually overwrite the files... buuut i have no idea how to do that with this new Vortex thingy. If somebody could tell me how to overwrite stuff with Vortex like we could do in NMM, that would be awesome.
EDIT: Just realised that "overwriting" with Vortex is just the load order. With that in mind, I have no idea what causes my game to crash when going into the inventory, but it has definitely to do with this mod, since it does not happen when I remove it.
So I will need to install the newly updated papyrusutil file from here? https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/13048?tab=files
Do I also need the address library? I am a PC gamer and campfire and frostfall are the only mods I want to play with a dependency on papyrusutil. Being honest I tend to use uncomplicated mods with few dependencies or conflict, mods that are easy to install and manage. I only very recently got this fix to work, and it took a lot of time and frustration. It was such a joy to have a functioning frostfall again! Now I'm having to stumble my way through this again and I still feel out of my depth. The AE update hasn't made it any easier for me to understand how tools like papyrusutil and address library work.
Also, is it true that the new papyrusutil makes AE less CTD prone? Because it's a real pain when LOOT says everything is fine yet I keep crashing just running around the overworld.
( make sure you download the right versions for your game version ! )
Make sure Steam is running before launching Skyrim !
Launch Skyrim through skse64_loader.exe
Start Frostfall by using MCM ( can take some time before MCM recognizes "new menu" )
Select a widget layout in Frostfall ( if you don't do that, the widgets for Cold, Warmth, Wet etc. are stuck in your upper left screen corner )
Give a big thank you (and Kudos) to Sthaagg and Dracotorre for the initial tutorial and this mod ! Cheers -=DD=- [EDIT] : Updated installation instructions Dec. 6th 2021
That's just the kind of for-dummies step-by-step I needed, thank you so much, will be sure to thank Sthaagg and Dracotorre as well.
EDIT: I just installed all the mods in the order recommended by the guide, but when I tried to launch SKSE I got the following error message: "a DLL plugin has failed to load correctly. If a new version of Skyrim was just release, it probably needs to be updated. PapyrusUtil.dll: disabled, address library needs to be updated"
So it looks like I would need address library as well, after all? EDIT2: installing address library seemed to do the trick. Everything seems to work just as it should in-game, and it's even reassigned some of my hotkeys for campfire automatically! This is really neat because I hadn't been able to assign mod hotkeys since AE, it would lock me in the system menu.
Yeah, Address Library is a required mod for PapyrusUtil SE, so you are correct in needing that I've updated the instructions accordingly, thanks for the heads-up. Have a Kudo !
Glad to see you've got it to work, and even better than expected ( which is always nice )
I followed all the instructions, but I get an error message that player profiles cannot be loaded. However, when I browse SKSE/plugins/Frostfalldata folder is already there. I don't have to create it. Yet I keep getting this error and Frostfall only works half.
I'm a little confused by the instructions in the description. I'm wanting to try out the CC Survival Mode, but I would like to use Campfire. Your description says this:
Does this mean I need to download an older version of Campfire, and it'll work with this? Or, do I need a specific old file from this mod? I saw some 'Campfire Only' files, but they aren't updated to the latest version. Are there things I'll miss out on by downloading them? Is this what I need to do?
Or, alternatively, is there a better/more recent camping mod I could use? I'm only really after the conjured shelters as a mid-late-game goal, but Campfire's the only mod I've seen with anything like that.
EDIT: Aww dang, I just learned that the conjured shelters are only in Frostfall. That sucks, I'll need another way to do it. Or maybe I just abandon the concept altogether, I dunno.
I'm actually not certain if this mod is even needed for Campfire anymore. The latest update to Campfire itself is newer than the latest 'Campfire only' version of this mod, and the changelog says it added SKSE compatibility. Plus, the newest 'Campfire + Frostfall' file here no longer includes any Campfire scripts that were in the previous versions.
That's what i try to explain ;) If you use only campfire and your version is older than 1.12.1 SE, you need it. If your version is newer, you don't need it.
You still need this mod if you use frostfall even with the newer campfire.
Guys I have a very weird issue: https://pastebin.com/BWTqMmXQ
Whenever I try to use the campfire, the menu immediately close. My character tries to sit, and it gets back up immediately. And if I stress it, like repeatedly try to use it and by being fast I can click on stone strike or magic, the crash happens.
* I already had the folder "FrostfallData" where it was supposed to be * "Plugins" folder also existed * I have tried starting SKSE as administrator. * I made sure to have Address Library for SKSE plugins installed * I re-downloaded PapyrusUtil and put all files in the data folders manually (again)
A Youtube video told me to make sure that the campfire patch (Campfire & Frostfall) loads AFTER the main campfire mod. However, I think what really did it was the fact that I decided to download the PapyrusUtil AE SE instead of just the PapyrusUtil SE. First, I figured that I don't have Anniversary Edition, only Special Edition, but then I figured that the AE SE version of Papyrus might be the one most up to date.
Hi, first time ever posting here. First, thank you so much for this mod, the quality difference between how the menus looked before and after is phenomenal.
One little thing, and apologies if this has been asked and answered elsewhere: I use Campfire and Frostfall, and I installed the newest version of this mod (3.4 as of this writing), with the corresponding patch. When playing the game, after I start up Frostfall, under the inventory menu, the categories for Warmth and Coverage show up for clothing, but there's no numerical values present for either of them, nor are they present in the bottom tab. Has this problem happened to anyone else, and if so, how do you go about fixing it?
**EDIT** Sorry, I think the lack of sleep is really catching up to me, I meant to post this on a different mod page. Disregard me entirely.
Hi. I keep getting notifications even though I turned them off in the MCM. The notifications at the top left of the screen that say things such as 'you are drenched', 'you are warming up', etc. Any ideas on how to remove these?
Hi, can you please make it compatible with the Widescreen Fix, or add built-in widescreen support?
I tried to myself but there are a lot of overlapping files which I have absolutely no idea how to edit or merge with each other for it to work.... and its absolutely infuriating to have a large modlist working properly, but just being unable to get in one small detail (whatever i do I cant get the warmth and coverage stats to show up).

Check yourversion, be sure to sure the right one between special edition and anniversary.

Should update the description with this. I too was confused (and i believe many will be too)
