No talking with your mouth full is not a physical thing though, it's a cultural one - and I think a fairly modern notion. I know it's geographically limited but I'm not exactly sure which cultures. Viking like people might not exactly have this idea. When I lived abroad I distinctly remember people getting very impatient with me refusing to talk until I'd swallowed a bite.
That's interesting. I myself don't like to talk until I've swallowed what I've eaten. Thinking about it though, the niceties of not talking until you've swallowed it does seem a very modern thing. People of the past probably didn't have time for that civilised behaviour!
I agree, it gets annoying sometimes. I don't like talking with full mouth too, but people tend to speak to me exactly when I am chewing, and I have to respond, because they are impatiently staring at me.
