About this mod

An xEdit script that will automagically patch in VIS naming conventions but only Spell Tomes & Scrolls.

Requirements
Permissions and credits
xEdit script
Why wait for patches? Do it yourself!

Description
Stripped Down my VIS Complete patcher to just do Spell Tomes & Scrolls.

I like VIS naming but with SkyUI being released in full now, the categories and filters are more intuitive than VIS naming.

However, we are still stuck with randomly named spell tomes and scrolls - which I find to be a nuisance when buying spells.

Options
Tomes + Scrolls Weigh 0 : as it sounds.
Ignore VIS Patchers : The script looks for VIS naming conventions before creating them, and will patch them back in if they are being overwritten.
Amend ESP : You can avoid having a patcher file by ticking this. It is impossible to undo this on the Skyrim base masters without revalidating your game files.

Instructions
  • Once you have xEdit set up, place the script in the "Edit Scripts" subfolder alongside the SSEEdit.exe directory.
  • Open up xEdit and either enable all the mods or select only the ones you wish to patch.
  • Highlight all the mods you wish to patch, Ctrl+A also works.
  • Right click on any highlighted esp, and hit "apply patch"
  • Select the _xPatch-autoMagic from the drop down list
  • Configure it as desired and press go then wait.

Bug Note
I have noticed that on the Witchhunter Spells mod that the script fails to copy the books into the patcher file - but only during creation of a new Patcher file.

Rerunning the script on the Witchhunter ESP or ticking Amend ESPs will encounter no errors. I imagine some other mods will behave similarly.
