Vigor - Combat Injuries - Hardcore

Vigor - Combat Injuries - Hardcore is a simple script modification to Vigor - Combat and Injuries that adjusts the time (in real life minutes) to recover from an Injury.  In Vigor - Combat and Injuries , when the player receives a injury, there are two primary ways to recover:

  • Use a Poultice on a particular area and wait 20 seconds (regardless of health/combat state)  (Balanced!)
  • Heal to 100% Health and wait 20 seconds to heal ALL Injuries (with no additional damage taken for duration)
    (OP!)

Playing both as a "paladin" character class as well as rolling with a follower that throws out heals when needed, I found Injuries to be a very minor setback that very rarely effected how I was approaching my current combat situation, recovering passively before I even realized I was injured.

This mod adjusts the mechanic used to recover injuries via 100% health to take 7 Minutes (real time) vs 20 seconds (real time).

You will also get a "My injuries are nearly healed" message midway (around 3-4 min mark) to remind you are close to recovery.

Why?

Injuries now are much more of a threat, if you do not carry a few bandages and poultices around, injuries are going to start stacking and open wounds will begin to lower your health.  If you do not have any poultices on you, and can't make any, you will have to choose if you want to push on or hold back, heal up and bunker down for a bit of time, or if near a town, do some shopping, crafting or hit the inn for some drinks!

I chose this method of changing this mechanic because its extremely light weight in its impact to the original mod, by not removing the mechanic completely, it allows only 1 file to be changed out of the whole package.  It also allows incentive to use poultices to heal, but not FORCE. For role play reasons, gives a sense of nursing your wounds while doing a bit more safe things like shopping around town while you recover.
