Description:

After growing tired of dumping my bound weapons as I progressed in game, I decided to make myself an overhaul of the system. My main aim was to remove the Soul Trap, which feels unnecessary, as well as the frankly annoying Turn Undead effect. I present my personal mod solution to you, the community, to use/edit/throw in the bin as you see fit.

Bound Equipment Overhaul Feature List:

  •     Introduces a Bound Shield as an Apprentice level skill (Left Hand only) with appropriate enchantment upgrades from perks.
  •     Changes the base perk requirements to make them a little more balanced for the new effects. Details below.
  •     Attempts to make Bound Equipment progress with the player without actually editing the intrinsic damage values.
  •     Attempts to touch as little of the system as possible to provide as much compatibility as I can, however, other perk mods that affect specifically the effects of the vanilla Bound Weapon perks will conflict (except where noted in the Compatibility section).

Both the Bound and Mystic Shields are classed as Heavy Armor

Mystic Binding

"Bound weapons do more damage. Bound shields provide a stronger defense."

  • Requires Conjuration 30 (originally 20)

Soul Assault - Renamed from Soul Stealer

"Bound weapons tear into the target's connection to Nirn, causing them to burn on hit. Bound shields increase magic resistance."
  • Requires Conjuration 40 (originally 30)
  • Weapons deal 15pts of fire damage for 1 (Dagger), 2 (Sword and Bow) or 3 seconds (Battleaxe)
  • Shields give 10% Magic Resistance

"Bound weapons cut deeply into the ties between the target and Nirn, causing unresistable burning damage on hit. Bound shields increase magic resistance with increased effectiveness against the fire, frost and shock."
  • Requires Conjuration 70
  • Weapons deal 30pts non elemental damage for 1 (Dagger), 2 (Sword and Bow) or 3 seconds (Battleaxe)
  • Shield - 10% Magic Resistance + 10% Resistance to Fire, Frost & Shock

Oblivion Binding

  • Requires Conjuration 55 (originally 40)
  • Weapons reduce the target's Magic Resistance by 15% for 1 (Dagger), 2 (Sword) or 3 seconds (Battleaxe and Bow)
  • Shield grant a 40pt Ward when blocking

  • Weapons reduce the target's Magic Resistance by 15% and Physical Resistance by 100 for 1 (Dagger), 2 (Sword) or 3 seconds (Battleaxe and Bow)
  • Shield grant an 80pt Ward when blocking and fortify your blocking by 10%

Compatibility
:


Whilst this mod has been created to have as little impact as possible, there will always be conflicts. I have supplied compatibility patches for a few other mods that have been requested:
  • Adamant does not require a patch, load BEO after Adamant.
  • The Ordinator version of the mod is standalone. If you wish to use this version, download and install ONLY that optional file.
  • The Path of Sorcery version of the mod is also standalone. To use this version of the mod, download and install ONLY that file.
  • The Vokrii version of the mod is also standalone. To use this version of the mod, download and install ONLY that file.
  • Bound Armory Extravaganza is compatible out of the box (Thanks to the help of BAE's Gruftlord for helping with this). I have also supplied a supplemental patch that adds effects for the Pickaxe and Woodcutter Axe included in BAE, however, this will only work with the standard version of the mod, NOT with the versions for Ordinator, Path of Sorcery or Vokrii.
    
Deviations from the Vanilla mod for each are as follows:

*NEW* Adamant
Adamant's changes to Bound Weapons are very similar to what is offered here, as such, it is compatible with the vanilla version of this mod, simply load BEO after Adamant to benefit from both mods.
HOWEVER
An additional patch has been added that extends BEO's functionality to the added versions of Bound Weapons from Mysticism and adds matching versions for the Bound Shield.

Ordinator
    All perks have been returned to their standard skill levels.
    Oblivion Binding is named Rend From This World, like it is in standard Ordinator.
    Physical Penetration effect replaced with Soul Trap on weapons for Rank 2 of Rend From This World which also includes the bonus duration effect.
       
Path of Sorcery
    All perks have been returned to their standard skill levels.
    Weapons retain their ability to absorb Magicka/Stamina/Health from the "Thirsty Blade" perk.
    Shields now give a 25% bonus to Magicka/Stamina/Health regeneration from the "Thirsty Blade" perk.

*NEW* Vokrii
The Bound Weapons tree has been adjusted to the BEO version.
Effects of Elemental Conflux have been forwarded to the BEO weapons.
Elemental Conflux also adds 20% elemental resistance to Bound Shields.
    
Bound Armory Extravaganza Patch
(ONLY for use with the Vanilla version of Bound Equipment Overhaul)
    Bound Tools have been given their own specialised, albeit incredibly niche, effects to make up for the missing Mystic versions of them.
        Bound Pickaxes now deal 20/40/60 damage to Automatons with the Mystic Binding/Soul Assault 1/Soul Assault 2 perks respectively
        Bound Woodcutter's Axes now deal 20/40/60 damage to Spriggans with the Mystic Binding/Soul Assault 1/Soul Assault 2 perks respectively
