Per IronDusk33's suggestion I uploaded the files I changed to get rid of excessive time passing due to CACO splitting items. I made these changes for my personal use/was not intending for others to use them, so I didn't do it as a patch and I hardcoded some things for my own use, so you may want to edit things to your own taste. (posting this twice because IronDusk33 mentioned tagging the files as stickied and this was a bit too verbose for that purpose in my opinion)
Changes (from what I remember, did this awhile ago):
Note: I hardcoded the removal of passing time when consuming items, shouldn't be hard to add it back in if you want it.
Adds 3 second delay after opening a crafting menu before TimePasses starts looking for crafted items, this should provide time for CACO to split items before TimePasses time skip triggers
(if CACO has enough work to do that it takes more than 3 seconds you'll need to increase the wait in the psc file and recompile it)
Added a quest that starts/stops when entering/leaving a crafting menu, did this because I was getting crashes when looting a large number of items. The crashes were due to each item picked up firing the event handler from Time Passes, now the event only fires when on the crafting menu.
Hello, I installed many of your mods and I sincerely want to say that you are a genius! Most of your creations are real jewels that should be in the vanilla game. So. I hope you will read me :)
So far this is an interesting one. I DL'd it mainly because I didn't like instant eating, or how reading a book took many RL minutes but in game it was also instant.
I use CACO, so Time Passes triggers instantly as soon as I start cooking, as well as for every item I eat. But when I add it up, the time that passes seems about right. I adjusted it a bit in the MCM and it works.
Reading works the best out of the box. Combine this with the Read Book Emote from Emote, and it's very immersive. I haven't tested out the other crafting (Alchemy, Smithing, etc), but I'm sure I can adjust them to my liking in the MCM.
This is a far better alternative to constantly hitting the "Wait" button every time you feel some time should pass.
cool and immerisve but would it mess with buffs like you drink a blacksmithing potion by the time you craft 1 dagger and it passes time, is the buff over? it lasts only about 30 secs real time
The one thing I wish was included in this mod is functionality for Hearthfire, where a huge chunk of time passes when constructing your home. It's ridiculous being able to construct an entire estate in an afternoon. If possible, it would be cool if you updated this with that included, where constructing components of your home took an immense amount of time.
this mod and others like it break my game. i am no longer able to talk with many npc/ companions, read text boxes or buy/sell from vendors, it just takes out the content altogether. is there a way i can fix this?
Having used this and Living Takes Time, I think I prefer the implementation here. But a big advantage to Living Takes Time is that it allows saving the MCM settings to FISS.
This would be a huge boon as Time Passes always takes some tinkering but I also usually don't remember my exact settings across different playthroughs since I usually just set it at the beginning of a playthrough then never touch it again.

Edit: Nevermind. I downloaded the ultimate add-on for spell research and it started working again, I don't know.
