Mod is working almost flawlessly, brilliant addition to mage RPing. Curious as to whether you're able to make it so spell books are marked as read after the study notes are added? That's the only (small) gripe I have. Bit annoying to have to go back and forth as I get more spells to figure out which ones I've already learned without that indicator.
Would love to have a book marked as Read, so I can keep track of the ones I've already read, plus, it will stop "Smart Auto Harvest" from picking them up over and over again because it has a feature to NOT pick up books that were already Read.
Unfortunately the Mod Author hasn't been active since August 2021
Anybody know if this is still working on Skyrim AE. The Mod Author hasn't been on the Nexus since 2021, so I'm wondering if it still works I got a notification about learning a "Doppleganger" spell from the Sand of Time mod, but I don't see anything in my spell list.
Thank you for making the mod. I'm having fun playing, original learning system was always too strange...eating books... tho is it possible to make player learn spells not only by sleeping, but by waiting too? (like sitting in home studying and waiting)
Indeed, especially to the original vanilla author but certainly also for SE port with MCM and maintenance!
I wonder if it's possible to give a text notification when it is midnight; I tend to miss it and waste a casting of the midnight spirit tutor quite often, especially with default timescale 20. When casting the spell outside midnight, perhaps it could also double as a clock, giving a text notification of current time AM/PM or "x hours until midnight". Midnight notification still needed though.
And the free lessons you get from mages in Skyrim, perhaps they could all reset at midnight. Then you know when the notification comes that all are available again. Currently you cannot see from the dialogue option if it is a quick free lesson or a long lesson costing gold (or perhaps they could be separate dialogue options to show this). Maybe it resets to brighter gray when free again?
Definitely a late suggestion but on the off-chance you see this, I ended up installing a HUD clock as time issues frustrated me as well. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/12937. Works brilliantly & you don't have to keep opening the map to see the time of day.
Just started and got 46 pages of Destruction Notes from the Sparks spell book in Helgen Keep. Is that supposed to happen? I'm just wondering if I'm eventually going to be carrying thousands of these things around, and how the quantity compares with any bonus I get from them.
Edit: Found answer in posts of original mod, auie4545 said "You get as many paper notes as the gold price of the book, and the total number of notes you have in your inventory is used to calculate part of your learning bonus."
Does this change spell book leveled lists with merchants? I’m using Arcanum and I noticed Farengar isn’t selling some of the Arcanum spells that he always had before. Disregard the problem was the naming of the Arcanum bsa’s in the latest update.
Thanks for the mod. For a mage playthrough it's very in-character, very immersive. It adds a lot to the interactions at College of Winterhold or with any mage NPCs period. Also gives magic some of its "magic", fantasy, and mysteriousness back.
The mcm didn't initially show for me. I had to move the mod higher to the start of my load order, and then the mcm showed up. So it seems like there was a conflict with another mod's mcm, although I couldn't what that the other mod was or if that other mod's mcm then disappeared.
I'm another former user of Spell Research, which is a great mod but more complex than I needed it to be. So far this mod is brilliant. It does just what I need and the compatibility is superb. Thanks a lot!
