About this mod

A simple mod which makes Skyrim's vanilla food and drink items more useful by giving them minor but long-lasting buffs to the player's stats.

Permissions and credits
The goal of Simple Food Overhaul is to make food and drink items more useful. Consuming food items gives small but long-lasting buffs to the player, similar to the way buff food works in many MMORPGs. These buffs are generally less effective than potions, but last a lot longer.
Simple Food Overhaul is a lightweight, script-free mod and should be compatible with any mods that do not edit the vanilla food & drink items.

The mod affects all of the food & drink items in the base game + DLCs, with the exception of raw meat/raw fish and a few "ingredient"-type items such as butter and flour. Most food items buff the player's health, stamina or magicka regeneration and add a secondary buff such as increased carry weight, fortified Destruction etc.
Generally speaking, the more difficult to obtain an item is, the stronger its effect. For example, a Mammoth Steak will give the player a stronger buff than a Rabbit Haunch.

Excel sheet with all changes
This is the first release of this mod. Some things may be unbalanced and/or wonky. Please let me know if you have suggestions or notice inconsistencies.

Installation:
Use a mod manager to install or manually extract the contents of the .7z file to your /Steam/steamapps/common/Skyrim Special Edition/Data folder.

Uninstallation:
When uninstalling, it is recommended to revert to an old save file from before the mod was installed to ensure that the uninstallation does not cause any issues (more information here: http://wiki.step-project.com/Guide:Troubleshooting#Mods_and_Savegames).
However, since the mod simply edits the item's stats and does not use any scripts, you should be fine uninstalling it mid-playthrough. I would recommend making sure you do not have any food buffs active when you uninstall the mod. Do this at your own risk. If you can, it is always recommended to instead revert to an older save.

Compatibility:
Simple Food Overhaul should be compatible with any mod that does not also alter vanilla food and drink items. Food and drink items added by other mods will not be affected by the changes of my mod.
