    Sticky
Hello everyone. I am happy to announce that KainXavier has gotten back into the modding scene. We have had very good and productive conversation about his mods and any that he plans on updating. Freshly Picked for the most part is done and he does not have any plans to update this. If he does, then he will post a sticky about any changes here. I have also added him as a co-author to this page and any support requests can be answered by him personally. This also applies to the page for Freshly Ground SSE as well. We are both very happy with the great reception this port has gotten and we both hope that everyone enjoys using it. Thanks to all players who have made this port a success that its been. Take care and good luck.

Update 07-13-19: Got a message from KainXavier today that he plans on updating this mod next. I am very happy to hear this and I hope everyone is too. He recently completed a huge update for Freshly Ground and I hope that you will take a look at the changes he made. Its amazing all the stuff he added. I am excited to find out what he plans to do with this mod as well. Any updates or changes will be posted directly by him. Can't wait.

Update 11-7-20:  So I am not sure whats going on with Kain but I have not heard from him in well over a year now.  The last message I received from him was Sept. 24 2019.  I responded to him on Sept 26 2019 and then sent another message to him on Feb 25 of this year and also got no response.  I will try and message him again and see if he is ok.  So any updates that he had planned for Freshly Picked is on hold until I know the status of him.  In the meantime I hope everyone is doing well and enjoys the port.

Hi! I was curious if there was an easy way to make the mod give around 2-3 times as much xp compared to the current value.

this is a mod conflict on my end but just a warning to anyone using other alchemy mods/experience changing mods ive had a bud happen with this after playing for quite some time with no issues where all of a sudden my alchemy shot up to level 903 after picking one mountain flower

Edit: i think the issue is because the xp is tied to the value of ingrediant and i have supply and demand purple mountain flowers glitched and became worth 1789237 so when i picked one i gained an enormous amount of xp

I would say probably not as that mod is a spell.  This mod requires you to use the e) harvest key to trigger the script to register the leveling mechanism to gain xp from harvesting.

It does work. Its a very small leveling process the way Kain designed it. It may not appear to work at first but I can assure you it does. If the menu shows up in the MCM then its working. If the menu is not there then uninstall and then reinstall it again.

Is this compatible with mods that Automatically Harvest? Like AutoHarvest2 or AutoLoot? (AutoHarvest2 is currently over in the LE section until it's final release for SSE, but it works in SSE already)

EDIT OK, just tried it out, I guess this mods needs the input from pressing the key from harvesting in order to give experience.
Using an auto harvesting mod must bypass that, because I didn't recieve any experience for the stuff that was auto harvested
    No problem.

I don’t see why it wouldn’t work with auto harvest 2 as your are still “picking” the flowers. As long as this mod senses you are harvesting flowers and such, you should get experience. Unfortunately my vid card decided to crap out on me yesterday. I am going to get another one after dinner today. Once I get my rig up and running, I can test out auto harvest 2 to make sure it does. I will update the main page and this comment to reflect it. If anyone else can verify those mods are compatible in the meantime, I would be grateful.

The version for SSE is here, called AutoHarvestSE v0.9.3 last 'TEST' build for Special Edition v1.5.39

Yeah I guess that makes sense with the key press. I never used the auto harvest mod to be honest.I guess the way the script was written, it has to detect the key press. Unfortunately KainXavier does not allow any modification to his original file unless he gives me permission.I have already sent him a PM requesting this. I am still waiting for an answer back. Hopefully soon HadTo. Sorry about that.

No problem, if it doesn't work, it doesn't work.
Considering how fast and how far AutoHarvest can pick things up I would have to use a leveling mod to turn down the Skill Experience on Alchemy!

Very true. Sounds like it has a pretty decent radius. Makes sense to use that mod if you wanna bulk harvest. I just naturally pick up stuff along the way as I am going to my next quest objective or just exploring around. I don't mind doing it that way. I got used to gathering resources playing WoW for a lot of years. Good luck HadTo and thanks for asking about auto harvest.

Confirmed not working with "AutoHarvest - Loot Container and Deadbodies" but that seems fair. Autoharvest for no experience or manually pick for experience.

Also doesn't work with Convenient Horses's "harvest while riding" option. And again it makes perfect sense--when you do it manually, you're exercising discrimination, picking the best blossoms or whatever, as opposed to just scooping up everythign in sight. Thus you learn.

I'm not using it at the moment because I went for CACO when it appeared and I'm not sure how they interact, or even if. Which is why I'm here, to find out.

Technically it should work with CACO as Kryptopyr incorporated Harvest Overhaul into it and I know that Harvest Overhaul works because I use it as well in my game. I would say to place this mod after CACO to allow it to register and detect any new plants that were added by Kryptopyr to the world.

I'm not quite sure how I'll tackle auto-harvest mods or abilities yet. There's several out there, and each one will likely require its own solution. It'd probably be easier to add my own auto-harvest feature, honestly. (I'm not saying I will, but it is a possibility.)

As for why they're incompatible, it has less to do with what button you're pressing and more to do with what you're looking at. Freshly Picked uses the crosshair to capture object references. Whenever a harvestable reference is found, it's categorized and then assigned to a quest alias. The quest alias has its own code that handles player activation for that type of object.

Regarding CACO, I haven't tested it extensively, but it appears to be mostly compatible. Both the original Harvest Overhaul mod (for Skyrim) and CACO swap out harvestable ingredients for LeveledItems. This allows yields to be randomized and conditioned. Unfortunately, all of the randomization is hard to account for. Right now, you'll only earn XP for the first type of item harvested. Come v1.3 however, you'll earn XP for everything.

I don't see any conflicts with Flora Respawn Fix in the ESP so as far as I can see it should work. No idea about Better Harvesting, I don't use that.

Hello. As far as the mods your asking about:
Flora Respawn Fix: More than likely as this mod doesn't alter the base FLOR and TREE records. Its a scripted mod that uses the SKSE64 to give you XP

Beyond Skyrim: Bruma: Edited post: Confirmed to work. Thanks to agarules for this.

Better Harvesting: I read over the description of that and its almost like Harvest Overhaul Redone. Technically it should be but I am gonna ask grazman in a PM if it is just in case. I just posted your query on the Better Harvesting page for him. Will check back for a response later. I am curently in the process of bringing over a mod by Jokerine called Underwater Treasures.

I will keep everyone posted on the progress of any of the mods you asked about. Thanks for your inquiries.

I copied the description from the Oldrim page and KainXavier says every pick gives 1 XP. I can start a new game and let you know if my Alchemy level bar goes up. I will update this post and let you know because I use Alternate Start as well.

Update: Works fine for me. I selected the Bandit beginning and I started off in that Bandit cave and I had plenty of stuff to pick before leaving between the glowing mushrooms, fly amonita and another mushroom. Went into my skills and my Alchemy bar was filling.

Eh, if the XP gain is tiny, it'll eventually show up. I didn't realise it was so small and was expecting instantaneous results.

If you're going to put in Better Harvesting and Flora Respawn, be careful to make sure they don't get included in a Wrye Bashed patch, because the latter will overwrite the other. Don't deactivate them and on the Merges Patches option, untick them so they don't get merged.

Oh yeah, if you pick like 2 or 3 things, you wont see the bar fill up a lot at all. I had to pick like at least 12-15 things before I saw my bar fill a little. kainXavier designed it that way. He said so in the comment section on the Oldrim page.

Thanks for the advice on WryeBash, however I dont use it. I only use SSEEdit to make a merged patch. LOOT is really good about sorting my load order and my game is very stable. If I need to make any adjustments or resolve conflicts, I do it directly thru Edit. Good luck and let me know about Bruma when you find out.

I appreciate you all taking the time to look into whether or not these mods are compatible!

Also, I just wanted to expand on what fiskin said about the XP system. It's based on the gold value of the item(s) you harvested (before the Green Thumb perk is applied). If the total value is 0, you'll still earn 1 XP unless you've disabled something in the MCM.

Have been testing this mod for a while and It doesn't seem to work for me, it may be that one of the mods I have conflict with it:

    - Harvest Overhaul, Harvest Overhaul SkyBirds compatibility patch, Harvest Overhaul Ordinator Patch <--- Most definitely this as it changes all vanilla harvest records to give you multiple harvests
    - Ordinator, although someone else confirmed it working with it.

I'll still keep it in my load order, though. Maybe some SSEEdit digging will give answers?

Otherwise, great idea for a mod! If it worked for me I'd surely love it.

Thanks for the post. I know it works with Harvest Overhaul for sure. I do not use Skybirds or the HOR patch for it. I have adjusted the below comment to reflect my experience with HOR and the Ordinator Patch. Please use LOOT to sort it or place Freshly Picked farther down in your load order.

Where is Freshly Picked in your load order? It should be below all those other mods to register the keypress. I plan on installing Harvest Overhaul and the Ordinator patch. Even Lyu confirmed that his mod works with this one. My advice is to use LOOT or place this mod way down in your load order to make sure its affecting any harvesting or plant mods you may have installed.

Update 8-16 at 16:20:Harvest Overhaul Redone with the Ordinator patch works perfectly fine for me and so does Freshly Picked. I am still getting Alchemy XP for everything I pick including Butterflies and Glowbugs. LOOT placed the Ordinator Patch below Freshly Picked and placed HOR much higher in my load order but below any other plant mods I have.

As soon as I saw this mod, I wanted it. Was just about to start a new game to remove some mods that I don't want and tested this mod before I did.
Level 91 and Alchemy level 100, so made it Legendary and started to harvest plants (not sampling them). Level 15 to level 16 in about 5 minutes. It's true, the more valuable the item, the more alchemy experience is gained. I kept looking at the alchemy perk tree to verify how much increase.
Haven't been to Bruma yet, so fast-travelled to Helgen and made for the border crossing. Fighting ogres and timber wolves and harvesting new plants.
    Yes it works.
I have Harvest Overhaul Redone (plants and animals), More Growable Plants (with the Bruma patch), Flora Respawn Fix, Nexus Skyrim Overhaul - Magic Edition (a compendium of magic mods, including Ordinator and sadly no longer available) and Beyond Skyrim - Bruma.

So, after about an hour of testing and gardening, everything seems hunky dory.
Many thanks for this little gem of a mod as Alchemy, Enchanting and Smithing are 3 skills that I like to advance asap.

Interesting, I was about to ask if someone knew whether a patch was needed for Ordinator since I don't seem to be getting any alchemy skill increases. I'm thinking my auto harvest mod might be conflicting instead if it works for you with Ordinator.

Your welcome. To be honest, this port has been my most busiest yet. I did not realize on porting this over that there were quite a few other mods that this could possibly work with. This has been a good experience for me. I am glad that a lot of other mod issues have worked out for the better. In the end, it helps everyone here on the Nexus.

Yes, it works with Ordinator and all of the mods that I use and listed in my other comment.
Ordinator, Apocalypse and about half a dozen other great magic mods are included in Nexus Skyrim Overhaul - Magic Edition, which I am using.
If you are finding any issues or whatever, I recommend going back to the mod pages and re-reading the descriptions and checking for any needed patches and mod load order. This is what I do if ever I have problems and usually see something that I may have missed through speed-reading and an eagerness to install said mods.

Flora respawn fix works. Another user confirmed it. The xp you gain is only 1 xp per plant so it’s very minor. Once you pick quite a few plants, you will notice your alchemy bar go up. Give it a chance, it works. Not sure about Skyrim alchemy fixed. Never used it. I can look it up and see what it does

Update: you will be fine with Skyrim Alchemy fixed. Thats just an overhaul of the alchemy system which looks pretty cool actually. Gonna put that in my game. Hope this helps.
