About this mod

Official port of Freshly Picked from Oldrim to SSE by KainXavier.
Allows players to earn Alchemy XP by harvesting ingredients and catching critters.

Requirements
Permissions and credits

This is a port of Freshly Picked from original Skyrim to SSE by KainXavier.  All credits go to him for the creation of the original mod,  scripting and implementation.  This mod is offered as-is because it is a direct port from Oldrim.  I will try and provide as much help as I can for issues relating to certain crafting or harvesting mods out there.  Many thanks for allowing open permission to port this over to SSE.  The original mod can be found here:

Freshly Picked

Important!!  Please read the compatibility section below for info regarding harvesting mods and others!!  The list will be updated accordingly per user requests and comments.  Thanks to all who helped with those.

The .esp has been run through the Creation Kit and saved in form 44.  Please let me know if you have any issues with the file.  I have it installed in my game and it works perfectly fine for me.  Since this has a MCM menu built in,  you have to give the game some time for the MCM to register the internal menu. SkyUI will give you a visual confirmation of this when its ready.  Please keep in mind that other mods or load order may affect this mod. Ideally I would let LOOT (if you use it) handle your load order and place this for stability.  I felt that this might be a decently satisfying mod to try for all the players that want to gain Alchemy XP for picking ingredients.

Requirements:
  • SkyUI  (Optional but required to access the features of the MCM)

I also have 2 other harvesting mods that I ported over from Oldrim called Collect Ivy SSE and Harvestable Elves Ear and Frost Mirriam SSE and are compatible with Freshly Picked SSE.  They can be found here:

Harvestable Elves Ear and Frost Mirriam SSE
Collect Ivy SSE

Make sure this mod is loaded AFTER those mods to make sure that this mod registers the harvest keypress in order to get the Alchemy XP.

There is another mod I ported over from Oldrim to SSE by KainXavier thats really good thats called Lumberjacked SSE.  It allows the player to earn Two-Handed XP by chopping wood and loading logs into the Sawmill and earn Smithing XP by sending the log through the mill.  That can be found here:

Lumberjacked SSE

Here is the description by KainXavier from the Oldrim Page:

Features
Freshly Picked allows players to earn Alchemy XP by harvesting ingredients and catching critters. Nirnroots (and the items below) are also affected by the Green Thumb perk now.

The XP gained is equivalent to the gold value of the item(s) harvested before the Green Thumb perk is applied. If the item does not have a value, 1 XP is earned.

Supported Flora

  • Default Flora
  • Default Trees
  • Nirnroots
  • Crimson Nirnroots
  • Sleeping Tree Sap
  • Eldergleam Sap
  • Poison Blooms
  • Canticle Bark
  • Planter Flora
  • Coin Purses*
  • Piles of Gold*

* XP disabled by default.

Supported Fauna**

  • Moths
  • Butterflies
  • Dragonflies
  • Torchbugs
  • Bees
  • Catchable Fish
  • Waterfall Salmon
  • Dead waterfall salmon
  • Wisp Cores

** Green Thumb disabled by default

FAQ's
Why are coin purses and piles of gold considered flora?

Code-wise, there is no difference between a coin purse and a Fly Amanita mushroom.
This is why the Green Thumb perk already applies to things like Egg Sacs and Charred Skeevers by default. I just kept it consistent with Dragonborn's piles of gold.

How do I know when the Green Thumb perk is being applied?

The correct item count will always display when harvesting ingredients from flora and tree objects. For everything else, a second "item added" message will appear to indicate the perk's effect has been applied. This secondary message can be disabled in the Mod Configuration Menu if you so desire.

Does this mod affect any tracked game stats?

Yes. The "Ingredients Harvested" game stat will increment by 1 every time you catch a critter or harvest special flora that is not already tracked. (Flora and tree objects are tracked by default. Nirnroots and crimson nirnroots increment the "Nirnroots Found" stat. Moths and butterflies are covered under the "Wings Plucked" stat.)

Better Harvesting:  Yes.   Morninglight confirmed this in the comment section.   Thanks for reporting.
Ordinator: Yes.  agarules confirmed this as well.   Thank you!  FNA still has to investigate and report back.
More Growable Plants: Combined with the Bruma patch.  agarules confirmed this as well in the same comment post.  Thank you for this.
Auto Harvest 2:  No.  HadToRegister reported this as not compatible.  This mod has to detect the e) Harvest keypress in order to register Alchemy XP.  Its the way the scripting was written by KainXavier for the original mod.
Harvest AnythingYes. dAb is the Author and he confirms this in the main description.

Disclaimer:

This mod is not to be uploaded to another website or sold under any circumstances.  It is a Nexus exclusive and its going to stay that way.   I am not the original author,   KainXavier is.  If you want to show appreciation,  please consider endorsing the original mod.  If you like this mod,  please endorse it.

Final Thoughts:
This mod just makes sense.  There is another mod here on the SSE Nexus that allows you to gain Alchemy XP from picking Nirnroot but I felt the player should have the option to gain XP from many different sources of picking Alchemy ingredients.  Until CACO for SSE is released,  this should satisfy some players in the meantime.  I will pretty much follow KainXavier's permissions and credits from the Oldrim page in regards to asset use and modification permissions.  If you see this mod on any other website besides the Nexus,  its an illegal copy and should be reported to a moderator immediately.
I will try and look over the post section every day as to see if anyone has an issue.  Please keep in mind that I do work full time but I will always try and find time to answer questions and help out whenever I can.  Good luck to everyone and I hope you enjoy this port.
