Read the following to see if your issue has already been addressed. Bug reports regarding these issues will be closed out of hand.

[*] Naked Characters

Select any naked characters in the console and type "ResetInventory". This occurs when character outfits are changed mid-game. There is no function I can access through papyrus or the CK to forcibly update outfits.



[*] I get the dark-face bug!

There is a guide to fixing conflicts like the dark-face bug in the downloads section of the mod page - please read it all!

You can use Face Discoloration Fix by Parapets (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/42441?). Face Discoloration Fix works for the dark-face bug but it is not a cure-all for mod conflicts.
You still need to make sure ICOW and its patches have priority over other NPC mods if you want ICOW NPC changes and schedules.
I recommend reading the guide if you want to understand load orders and make simple patches.


[*] I crash on startup/ after entering a certain area

Crashing on startup is almost always the result of missing masters.

Crashing on entering certain areas is almost always the result of other mods; if it is a bug in ICOW, ALL users will be experiencing it.

Make sure that you have run LOOT (or equivalent) after installing ICOW. In your mod management software, click on the patches you selected for this mod. Make sure that all of the listed masters are present, activated and loaded before the patch. If this does not work, systematically disable patches/ other mods until you identify the problem.



[*] The tutoring system is not working!

Tutoring is an ICOW feature that allows you to gain XP from watching teachers in the Hall of The Elements. It is different from training, which is when you pay a character gold through the dialogue menu.

If you're half way through the quest-line, then most tutoring is disabled until the quest-line is completed. If you have completed the quest-line, try moving the mod and its patches to the bottom of your load order, as other mods may overwrite AI packages. If that does not work, then remember: tutors are only guaranteed to be tutoring when the other students are standing in front of them - follow the other students. Furthermore, you will only gain experience from tutors if your skill level is below that which they could train you to for gold (e.g. Colette will only tutor you to level 75 restoration, as she is an 'expert' restoration trainer). Toggle limitless tutoring in MCM if you want characters to tutor you beyond this limit (this does not affect the level characters will train you to for gold).



[*] I can't find the master illusion texts!

I have uploaded pictures on the mod pages showing the locations of the texts in the CK.



[*] MCM menu is not appearing

Type setstage SKI_ConfigManagerInstance 1 into the console. If you want this command to be run automatically, download and install JaxonZ MCM Kicker (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/57795/). The Oldrim file seems to work fine in SSE.



[*] It's black outside the windows!

This means that another mod is editing the College and overwriting my cell edits. Make sure you have patches for mods like Enhanced Lights & FX and move ICOW and its patches to the bottom of your load order.



[*] Information for translators

Translations of the mod are welcome, but they may only be hosted on the Skyrim or SSE Nexus sites and they must be linked to the mod page. As of V5.0, most English strings are within the esp (messages, activators, descriptions etc., all prefixed with "cwi"). There are three scripts with English strings which must be translated and recompiled: CWISEMCMScript, CWITrainingSpellScript, and CWIMessageBoxScript.
