I like being as moddular as possible with mods that replace textures and meshes, sometimes bigger mods end up changing too many things at once, this way I can pick, choose and combine different mods if they just focus on, say, banners for example, or burned wood, or shields, etc.
Still, I came across this mod right when I was back at Helgen and figured I should try it, and it works well, so that's enough for me at the moment. :)
It's just me, or with the tweaked UVs, now there's some SEVERE tiling visible even in screenshots? To me, original UVs, although a bit blurry, artistically looks muuuch better.. Don't you see these repeatable texture pattern?? Am I going insane..
I've not got any replacer textures for these so they look terrible on my install, meshes use a glow map, emissive multiple is set to 4 and the emissive color is a bold orange, so now at least i understand why they look like they do i could alter those aswell for anyone who has christmas tree wooden beams...
Yep, I smiled when seeing this mod appear following our recent discussion in that other comments section. When installing this new mod and letting it overwrite SMIM (after NMM prompted a request) I was getting my hopes up for the hideous bright orange beams to look okay once more... but alas no. They're still bright orange, not mostly dark brown with orange 'bits' like in the pics you've posted. There's evidently something about using Cinematic Fire Effects 2 with Embers HD that's causing the problem for me.
I've only just started a new game so haven't ventured beyond the outskirts of Helgen yet and my memory isn't recalling where, if anywhere, else in the game the same burned wooden beams are present. Sorry I can't be more helpful.
From what I remember these burnt wood planks are also found at the Hall of the Vigilants when it gets attacked during the Dawnguard questline. Really interested in this mod as I am also getting the bright orange effect with my setup (Obsidian Weathers + NVT ENB + Embers HD + Cinematic Fire Effects 2).
I'm uploading a replacer glow map, dulls it right down to barely anything at all. I'll upload a few screenshots...suppose this will affect anything which uses this glow map...hopefully not too much...otherwise i'll have to alter all the meshes
Just installed 'No Orange Xmas Lights Please' (no overwrite requests from NMM) and now the formerly bright orange beams have changed to a light grey colour with black bits. Nothing like the new pics. However, it lends the beams an appearance not dissimilar to heavily burned wood soon before it disintegrates into ashes so it's a vast improvement over bright orange!
I made graphics (very dark) and reduced A LOT the fire glow, so now using Embers+HD Fire+whatever... they're looking good. But... the problem, I'm saying again, is with the meshes. If the mesh of a rock has strong shining elements (for wetrocks), whatever graph you put on, you'll have strong shining rock.
I will, soon... but a tip, since I just re-installed some mods:
If you use the HD Ultimate Fire Effects ("Oldrim" ) WITH THE MESHES (needs to be converted of course via SSE NifSkope)... and you use the "Oldrim" Embers HD (not the SSE port)... you don't have the shining beams! I just tested, few hrs ago.

Endorsed.

The problem wasn't with the textures (that was shining like that and had orange color), but with the meshes.

In my new "Collection" mod that I've published few days ago, I have logs for these.
