MARCO'S MEALS

As the inedible Sancho Panza once said: "To the grave with the dead, and the living to the loaf of bread!". In short, this mod makes the food in Skyrim taste as good as it looks. Nearly every food item is given a spicy new effect, with nutritional benefits for various lifestyles. In addition, a smattering of flavorful tweaks were made to hunger mechanics in Survival mode to encourage you to be more proactive about the food you eat, instead of feeling simply like you're managing meters. This mod was taste-tested with Survival Mode in mind, but it does not require you to own Creation Club Survival Mode if you're on a diet.

FEATURES

  • Raw meats, flour sacks, and butter have no special buffs beyond a token hunger restoration and a tiny amount of stamina restoration. Raw fruits and vegetables and cooked meals have low power, long duration buffs (usually five minutes) with a wide variety of effects.
  • Bread restores stamina over a few seconds. Baked goods include this effect as well as extra buffs.
  • Alcoholic beverages have all been given new effects as well - as a general rule, they reduce your stamina regeneration for five minutes. (wines reduce magicka regeneration instead)
  • Skooma has a new effect: it will fortify your magicka and stamina a large amount, but significantly reduce their regeneration while the effect is going.
  • Some recipes have changed. Elves Ear, Frost Mirriam, and Garlic are commonly found in kitchens, and now you'll need them to cook some of the tastiest stews!
  • [Requires Survival] The "Well Fed" benefit, instead of giving a minor buff to stamina regeneration, now adds minor health regeneration. Still at a much slower rate than the default HP regeneration, but now you won't be as dependent on healing potions or magic for incremental healing. It's worth noting that I didn't give any of the food items health restorative effects - this is how food interacts with HP now.
  • [Requires Survival] The two least satisfying tiers of hunger restoration have been buffed a bit. Foods that would originally only restore 2 Hunger now restore 18, and foods that used to restore 18 Hunger now restore 90.
INSTALLATION AND COMPATIBILITY

If you do not own Survival Mode, or you do but simply don't want the last two features listed above, install the "No Survival" version. Otherwise, install the regular version. Either way, it's as simple as dragging and dropping the .ESP file into your Skyrim Special Edition/Data folder and activating it. Or, you know, just use the mod manager of your choice.
