Finally. Been trying to sort out dual wield blocking after it stopped working and this is the only mod I've found that not only actually works, but flawlessly. When I had it working with other mods it was always glitchy and would sometimes work, and sometimes not. Using this with Valhalla, Attack-MCO, SCAR, Nordic, etc, etc. Version 1.5.97. Once I entered the alternate block key into Valhalla not even slightly buggy. Works exactly as you would expect (just don't forget to run Nemesis).
Also happened to use the Outcast Shen outfit and swords while testing, you actually feel like a ninja with that block haha it's great.
Now I can rebuild the outputs again and hopefully can actually have a playthrough. Hopefully I haven't forgotten anything.
it's funny that attack canceling (feinting) is a real thing in real life but this mod isnt ad downloaded or endorsed as SJG version without attack canceling. just weird to me smh. i got this version for realism. Thanks for the great mod! also if this ever need updating do you mind if i give you credit along with the authors you gave credit so i may keep this mod functional? thanks in advance!
It's probably because this attack canceling has nothing to do with real life feinting. In the game you can cancel the attack animation ANY time you want. In real life that cannot happen. Feinting works like pretending to START an attack and then swiftly cancel it either for another attack or blocking or whatever. In the game? You can very well cancel even when you're well invested on an attack, like even after your arms are fully extended and your legs have already done all the legwork needed for an attack (leaving you exposed in some cases). How is that realistic? It's also very exploitable exactly because you can cancel any time in the animation.
So basically that's the reason people dislike attack canceling mods, I guess.
I don't mind if you work on it to keep it up to date. I haven't play skyrim in years. I'm just waiting for the next big bethesda stuff like Starfield. May be harder to get permissions from original authors as its been awhile not sure how many still look at nexus. I know when I first uploaded this it had gotten taken down/hidden by admin because I was still waiting for the responses for approval from the 2 original authors.
edit : managed to get that working by clicking both legacy nemesis items from moljka even though I have the installed the sse version ; I guess this never kind of get updated or something and never read it anywhere. Modding in skyrim is chaos ; but it now works.
When i use the key i setup for it, it does the blocking animation, but i still take full damage. I kind of feel like whats the point of blocking if it hits you just the same, and nothing changes. The enemies don't get staggered, or recoil, and the damage doesn't get reduced. Feels pointless, or am i missing something
From my limited testing works quite well with a mod that adds timed block. I am here though wondering if we can combine this mod with someone that overhauls blocking. I haven't tried going down the (Ordinator) block skill tree though with dual wielding in mind maybe that alone is enough, assuming it even works at all. Anyways I think your main issue is with how Skyrim handles blocking at a vanilla level.
FOR THOSE WHO USE MCO AND THE DUAL WIELD BLOCK DOESN'T WORK: YOU DONT NEED THIS MOD. Its a loadorder problem. Go to your plugins and position Attack MCO way down on the end of your list, let loot do the sorting. That should fix it!
I play with controller: it's LT Again: you dont need this mod with mco, sort your loadorder and you should be able to block. On the other hand when your problem is fixed everything is fine so... ;))
Nice mod. For information, when the key for DWBP is checked it might sometimes prevent casting spell with the left hand. Unchecking the option revert to normal spell casting
Be careful not to uninstall this mod with one click power attack enabled , because if you don't disable it in the MCM before you do, it will break the key bind you set for one click power attack forever. And re-installing anything doesn't work. Resetting the bind to a different key wont work either.
