About this mod

Mining and Chopping takes much longer, but is now much more rewarding, and configurable with the MCM.

In Skyrim, it takes about 9 strikes of a pickaxe to completely destroy an ore vein. NPCs can go at it for years, but the Last Dragonborn can clear out a mine in a matter of minutes, with no regard for the livelihoods of the miners inside. This mod attempts to rectify that by making most ore veins infinite in quantity, while increasing the time it takes to extract ore from them. With SkyUI installed, you can configure the amount of ore mined per hour, on an ore-by-ore basis, in the MCM. Every minable resource in Skyrim Special Edition can be configured, from both the base game, and the DLCs. Anything not covered, i.e. mod added ores, has basic configuration support, though this is shared by all mod added ores. When mining, you can either sit and watch the mining animation, or use the Wait menu. If you really want to, you can still hit the veins with a pickaxe directly, but Iron at a default of 4 ores-per-hour, will take 20-30 hits.

By default, Stalhrim veins, and Shellbugs are not infinite sources. Shellbugs can still be killed by over-mining, and Stalhrim veins still get destroyed to reveal the treasure or passageway hidden behind them. Resources that aren't infinite are limited to a random number of ores per vein, selected between two numbers that are also configurable on an ore-by-ore basis. Any ore vein can be made finite, though they will still respawn with the cell that they're in.

Chopping Firewood is also changed by this mod, with the same configuration available. Wood Chopping Blocks have an infinite amount of resources by default, but can be limited, and the amount of Firewood chopped per hour is configurable.

The ores from the base game, and Firewood, can sometimes be sold to Mine overseers or Lumbermill Owners, and the price for these materials is also configurable. By default, they should be similar to what you could get for selling the materials to a shopkeeper. The value of the items themselves aren't changed, just the price when selling them to certain NPCs through dialog.

And finally, the mod also supports gaining Smithing experience for each piece of ore mined, once again configurable in the MCM, although this value is the same for every ore. You do not gain Smithing experience from chopping Firewood.

====================

This mod shouldn't really conflict with any other plugins, even if it does, the MCM control of this mod will take precedence when used. It will conflict with any mods that change MineOreFurnitureScript, MineOreScript, or ResourceFurnitureScript. The USSEP edits to these scripts have been forwarded, but make sure another mod isn't overwriting any of these, if you're having problems.

The mod doesn't require SkyUI or SKSE, but all of the configuration is done through it, and you're probably using it anyway.
