Clever mod indeed. Since we use Skyrim SE, there is no point in having separate .esm and .esp for the DLC; plus, some people want to save plugin slots, so I merged everything into a single ESPFE: https://pixeldrain.com/u/r5am2A7Z
If you use my file you don't need to download the main mod, but you should in order to endorse.
Hi. This mod seems like such a good idea. Do you happen to have any idea of how safe it is to add mid-game? (I'm not very savvy about that stuff, but I like to be cautious. The mod author doesn't seem to have commented in many years, and the mod has less than 300 endorsements despite its potentially brilliant simple concept.)
I assume that because this mod changes the region music lists it's inherently incompatible with soundtrack mods like Immersive Music and Additional Music Project, correct?
I don't think they're compatible, no. *Maybe* you could load up those other mods in xEdit and patch them across much like I did (silence + DLC tracks) to get silence + DLC + other music mods?
Yeah I think I could use xEdit or Matorsmash to smash a patch for sure. I am trying to reduce the workload to get Skyrim up and running with way too many mods though lol. It might be worth it to have a crack.
Just use one of these two mods. If your fine with all the extra soundtracks & the extra work involved anyway. Though I don't think you *have* to add all the songs it lists. Test for yourself. I like the added music so I was fine with it. At least one of them is in the req section for mods that include this one on the desc page.
To make form 44 via SSEditor open esm and copy data to new esp (like Moments of silence2.esp). Remove "Moments of silence.esm" from masters. Change name "Moments of silence2.esp" to "Moments of silence.esm". Or via CK open file and save as esp. Then change .esp to .esm.
Is there literally any reason at all to do that? Why make the users do the conversion?
EDIT: Also, why can't this mod be converted to form 43 by the simple open/save/close in the CK like some other mods? Anything specific to this mod that prevents it?
I don't think this conversion neccessary, but people worried about it because some mod managers warning about form mismatch. I have many mods from Classic Skyrim work just fine in SE without any changes. Never experienced any issue with form 43 in SE. Yes, it can be converted in CK, It's just additional instruction how to make it without CK. XD
Honestly, I was being lazy :p I spent that week studying the CK like a tome and burnt myself out just to do this port since I'm no mod author wizard, hah.
I don't know much about the CK but I don't think converting .esm files that way works because of the fact they're master files. Specifically, just opening MoS's .esm and trying to save it made CK complain at me (I don't remember what the message was because that was months ago). Saving it as a new file forced it to be an .esp, not an .esm - when I opened xEdit to check if things were alright, the new .esp was missing records and I did not know how to deal with this.
Fortunately I did more reading around a few minutes ago and now everything is totally converted as intended. This is what I did if you're curious: 1. Opened "Moments of Silence.esm" (form 43) in the CK 2. Saved a new .esp under the same name (form 44) 3. Opened xEdit and load "Moments of Silence.esm" (form 43) and "Moments of Silence.esp" (form 44) 3a. The .esp had 0 records, the old .esm had 11. These records are the silent tracks of varying length. 4. Selected all 11 records, right-clicked to 'copy as new form' then pasted into the .esp 5. Removed the old, soon-to-be-deleted .esm as a master from the .esp 6. Saved and closed. 7. Changed the file extension from .esp .esm
For future reference, SSEEdit has a "update record form version" script you can run on the original file. I've used it for this mod, and many others - easy peasy.
dude, you know what would really be awesome? Replace the audio from the annoying dialogue like "don't do that", "what are you doing", "stop that" this generic small talk crap which pisses you off after hearing it 4-5 times in a row with a muted sound or a huge diverse pack of dialogue sounds, would take the trouble to raid towns because of one idiot tells you "keep your hands by urself"
